Platoon (Duke Nukem 3D TC) Weapons Fix
--------------------------------------
Compiled by MrFlibble <mrflibble86@yahoo.com>

General Information
-------------------
This is a fix for Platoon, a Duke Nukem 3D Total Conversion by Team TNT, and
its third-party add-on, Tour of Duty 3 by Ford Perfect.

The fix uses the capabilities of the Enhanced Duke Nukem 3D Engine (EDuke32),
and as such is not compatible with the original Duke Nukem 3D, or any other
versions of the Build engine (e.g. other source ports). You can obtain the
latest versiion of EDuke32 here:

http://eduke32.com/

NOTE: Win98 users might have to use an older version of EDuke32; previous
releases are archived here:

http://dukeworld.duke4.net/eduke32/old_versions/

The fix introduces the following improvements:

- M16 ammo clip now contains 20 rounds.
- Grenades no longer use the pipebomb remote detonator.
- Flamethrower no longer has a delay before firing.
- Sniper rifle is now a true hitscan weapon with increased accuracy, and the
blue flash from the Freezethrower had been removed.
- Fixed the flame and smoke (environment effects) animations.

Installation
------------
0a. Extract the EDuke32 files into the directory where Duke Nukem 3D and
Platoon TC are installed.

OR

0b. Extract EDuke32 files into a new directory, e.g. C:\Games\Platoon\. Copy
DUKE3D.GRP (any version) from your Duke Nukem 3D into this directory. Install
Platoon or Platoon (Atomic Edition) and/or Tour of Duty 3 in the same new
directory as explained in the respective documentation.

NOTE: As it seems, there is very little difference between Platoon for Duke
Nukem 3D v1.3d and Platoon for Duke Nukem3D 1.4/1.5 (Atomic Edition), and both
will run fine with EDuke32 regardless of what version of DUKE3D.GRP is used.
In this respect, using the Atomic Edition version of Platoon TC is a bit more
convenient since all data files are packaged into a single GRP file.

1. Extract the CON files supplied in this package into the directory where
Platoon TC is installed.

2. Create a shortcut for eduke32.exe. Edit the shortcut properties and add
the following parameters to the command line:

/xplatoon.con /gplatoon.grp

The latter parameter is needed only if you have PLATOON.GRP from the Atomic
Edition version of Platoon TC.

For example, if you installed Platoon into C:\Games\Platoon\, the command line
should look like this:

C:\Games\Platoon\eduke32.exe /xplatoon.con /gplatoon.grp

3. If you have the Tour of Duty 3 add-on episode, use addon.con instead of
platoon.con, i.e. the parameter should be /xaddon.con

4. Launch EDuke32 with the shortcut you created to start the game.
