  1. This is a very long post, but i'm gonna trying to be short: Im currently having a problem with AI behaviour with my current mission. My plan is to do next: USSR must capture and defend four different technology centers. If any technology centers gets destroyed -> mission is failed. Each captured technology center gives you a four General units at your usage. The mission is completed when all Technology Centers are captured and enemy forces are destroyed. Currently when my engineer gets in Technology Center -> The units will come out but if someone destroys the technology center -> game continues running but no mission failed screen... Here is the trigger: Name: +1 Owner: Greece Existence: temporary (any linked event -> switch, destroy) Type: complex (event1 => action1; event2 => action2) Event 1: Entered by...USSR Event 2: Destroyed by anybody Action 1: Global Set... 1 Action 2: Loser is... USSR Linked to: Buildings - 1 and the [Trig] itself : +1=0,1,3,1,1,-1,2,7,-1,0,28,-1,-1,1,2,-1,-1,-254 Another problem [SEE THE ATTACHED PICTURE]: Currently Spain does have a four different patrols which will be created shortly after mission is started. The Tanks near at the Number 1 should be a one team and they should patrol nearby. The tank and two riflemen near the Number 2 are our own, independent team and they does not have anything relating on team number one. HOWEVER! Right after the mission starts -> One of the Team 1 tanks will switch places with Team 2 tank?! The red line means that those two tanks will switch places (see the attached picture). Right after start, there are two 2TNK units placed on South-West and South-East. The unit from South-West should start patrolling. BUT! The 2TNK which is placed on South-East will actually starts doing that?!?!?! Both are Guard -stance and but if i set the 2TNK from South-East Area Guard -stance it will stay where it is supposed to and the unit in South-West will patrol as i've planned. I'm very frustated on this and during this evening i almost destroyed my keyboard and throw PC out of the window... this is very frustating since feels like nothing is not gonna work and i don't know or understand why! This mission is meant to come the next version of Command & Conquer REDUX for Red Alert 95 which im currently working on...
  2. Hi guys, I'm trying to play Red Alert but after downloading it and then clicking 'skirmish' a pop up says 'cannot find specified file'. My antivirus on the first attempt stopped a 'heuristic virus'. File reference: c:\games\cncnet\redalert1_online\cncnet5.exe The same happens with Tiberium Sun. Can you help me please i'm desperate to play?! Norton highlights these both as high risk viruses. Could you either update the files without viruses or advise please?

  4. I just done Red Alert 1 and Dune 2000 they both have no sound and I have tried tinkering with the .exe but no luck is there any fix for this? UPDATE: now Red Alert 2 has no sound what is going on?

  7. So, I am trying to connect 2 computers to the LAN menu for RA1. They are both ethernet wired into the same router. I open the LAN server and menu on one and the other attempts to connect. It never connects however, and just gets stuck in a cycle of Connecting.... and No Response from Server. I have tried hosting on both computers but with no success. Can someone explain how this is supposed to work? The IP address that the connecting computer tries to connect to is correct, except it adds a :6667 onto the end of the IP. That's the only odd thing that I see. Or Is there a way to get the in-game LAN menu to work? I noticed that this version doesn't allow you to enter the in-game menu even though the directory includes the LAN patch. Thanks, Von
  8. Hi all, Me and my cousin Superdude have been playing Red Alert 1 on CnCnet since Beta days and we have loved having access to the game with so many features. However, we just got the new updated version recently and it seems that the way to play over local area network has changed. It used to just take you to a LAN menu identical to the online menu and you would just join in and go. Now it says I need to set up a server. However, if I set up the server on my main PC and try to connect with another one, It just says "connecting to...", "can't connect to the IP address" over and over. So my question is, where can I change the IP settings for LAN and how do I get this thing to connect? Any help would be super greatly appreciated. VonEsling
  9. Hey guys, long time no talky. I'm posting to ask about something that was talked about ages ago. Making more units for a mod in RA1. From memory there was code to allow multiple e1 (rifle), 2tnk (med tank), dd (destoryer) and heli (apache). Any info on this would be great... but the best info is; "Yes White, it's totally in the game and here's how to do it" Cheers.

    Hi I am a new user, used to play alot back in the day, how do i play online? I try to launch it but keep getting booted once i login, with a msg saying private channel? am i missing something? the message is " you have been kicked by Chanserv - (invite only channel)
  11. Greetings. I am having trouble editing units on a RA 1 multiplayer map that I created. It seems no matter how much I edit the unit properties on the mission ini in RA Editor, none of my changes to the units or properties seem to take effect whenever I host it online. Does someone know how to get it to work?

I think about making a theatre out of the dune 2k tileset. :d2k: But there are some difficulties so far: The D2k cell size is 32 px, while RA cell size is only 24 px. So I have to do alot of gimping to create fitting tiles for RA. The RA and the D2K palettes are very different, so converted tiles will look ugly, so I have to create a new palette suitable for both RA units and D2k templates. Finally it might look like this:

So im making a jungle map, this means trees, lots of trees... however i have hit the limit of placeable terrain items. i have tried adjusting the limit in the .mpr for my map and re-opening the editor however this did not work. is it POSSIBLE to place more then this seemingly arbitrary limit? if so how?

Ive tried, ive searched high and low and cant find the answers that are simple enough for my little brain to understand. any changes i make to ore (how fast it grows, what its worth, etc) dont take effect - i have learned as much that im editing the MPR file, running it through cncnet, have even played my custom map over lan with other alterations taking effect, but no changes to the ores related stats... i grew up playing ra1, and now that ive found it again im hoping to sink some hours id greatly appreciate any help or advice

  20. Hello . During the Skirmish play in Red Alert aftermath. I've found that PC bots are too stupid and they doesn't want to atack me. May be anybody know why is it so? I am choosing level hard, but the bots are playing as they easy. In long time ago i remember that i could stop the PC army with more then three tesla but now it is enough one. Also the resolution of screen play i choose in options not working everytime i start the game. Sometimes it is going from the last time before. Win 7 X64

There was dozens of high quality ra1 mods, units and structures and other stuff that i might need / im interested to study them for my mod. I wasn't able to find any other topic related on this matter, so i must ask does anyone else having a similar problems and is there any other site, where i can download RA1 mods? sprites.openra.net is also down so it won't help me.

    Can't Update

    I lost connection while in game lobby and tried to relaunch CnC but it would not download the update. It gave me option to run older version, but people are unable to connect to me, I am unable to see maps, gives me errors for that, and it shows N/A for me and beside everyone's names. I tried deleting everything and reinstalling and it did not help. It's not the internet or firewall. What do I do?

  25. Let's build a structure, that spawns a soldier every time when a shot is fired on! That can be used as hostile base-defense in missions or a neutral building in multiplayer games. That's actually a funny and entertaining element in a map. Choose a building with weaker armor, otherwise there could be a huge flood of infantry, which slows down online games. 1. Place the building where you like to have it. Place 2 waypoints: WP1 beneath the building, WP2 next to it. 2. Now create a teamtype: Create a taskforce: 1 E1 (or something else, but but only 1 infantrist!), create a script (1. move to WP2, 2. area guard: few seconds, 3. attack anything) and a teamtype. Set WP1 as Waypoint for the team. Make sure team owner and building owner are identical (or at least allied with each other). 3. Create a trigger: Set in RA1: Existence - constant, in TS/RA2: Type 2 - Repeating. Event: Attacked by anybody/any house. Action: RA1: Reinforce team - Our teamtype. RA2/TS: 80 - Reinforce at Waypoint - Our Teamtype / WP1. 4. Double-click on your building and attach trigger. If the building is destroyed, the trigger automatically will die too. Now with every shot of my hovercraft there is one trooper coming out of the lighthouse!
