  2. Problem is everytime I try to type something in game like changing name but the game keep stopped working with no reason can someone tell me what wrong with it?
  3. Hi all, just started playing Command and Conquer and Red ALert 1 after a long break !! I have untill now just been playing the standard missions but have come across some videos with multiplayer and sinlge player skirmishes etc. Would some one be able to point me in the right directions a s to how i get hold of these maps/missions> is it as simple as a download? Currently i am playing via steam (or at least i think i am as that is where i downloaded the game), does this matter with regard to downloading new missions. I did originally try to download the game directly but my computer didnt like it and tried all fixes but to no avail. Via steam it worked straight away. Thanks in advance
  4. EDIT: The new mod profile is live! So long time no chat. lol ? Since finally completing the story campaigns for Tiberian Dawn Redux a couple years ago I have been repeatedly approached about carrying the mod over into the RA universe with a spinoff. I haven't decided if it will be a mini-mod type add-on built into TDR (think GDI/Nod vs. Allies/Soviets in skirmish) or a standalone project built off of the renovated C&C Generals SAGE engine TDR is now using. I know a lot of the assets and coding between the original TD and RA games is nearly the same so it would streamline development quite a bit. (looking into the original game files I noticed a lot of the art and audio assets are using the same filenames to confirm this) The biggest hurdles I have will be making a decent naval system, designing, coding, and animating attack dogs and then the Chronosphere stuff. I may also (as I did with TDR) consolidate the unit and structure tech tree and add unit upgrades and special abilities. (e.g. Engineers doubled as Mechanics and APC's doubled as Medics) So who wants Red Alert Redux? And I will say it will not be a 1:1 remake. As I did with TDR I aim to keep as much of the original wacky tech and atmosphere Westwood developed for TD and RA but also have a more realistic spin on it in both appearance and gameplay. I have been considering consulting with the former Cold War Crisis Mod Team and the guys behind Red Alert: A Path Beyond.

I am looking for a way to let text appear during a mission like here (from GDI Mission 9):I went through the code and couldn't find anything related.I did find the sound that is played when that message appears. It's "TDR_SFC_BLEEP2.WAV" in the "SFX3D.MEG".It is found twice in "AUDIO.CPP" but not referenced anywhere to be played.Any input would be nice ^^
  6. I'm trying to render a custom graphic. Let's say I have that pink box. How can I render it on top of the sidebar next to the credits (1), over the build icons (3) and maybe the game view (2). All I found was code in power.cpp, radar.cpp and sidebar.cpp that mostly doesn't seem to do anything. I can comment out a lot of it without seeing any change ingame. Any idea how to do that?
  7. So I try to change the template type of a cell ingame. This is on the Desert theme, going from an empty, passable cell to an impassable brush. Code: CellClass * cellptr = &Map[257]; struct { TemplateType TType; // Template type. unsigned char TIcon; // Template icon number. } temp; temp.TType = TEMPLATE_BRUSH1; temp.TIcon = 0; cellptr->TType = temp.TType; cellptr->TIcon = temp.TIcon; cellptr->Recalc_Attributes(); Map.Flag_Cell(257); After triggering this code the cell is no longer passable as it should be. In the classic graphics the cell gets correctly updated (both the passable status and the GRAPHIC itself), but in the remastered graphics it does NOT (not GRAPHIC update). What am I missing here?

As any of you fellow traditionalists out there remember about the very first Command & Conquer game, The Global Defense Initiative's armies wore Gold and The Brotherhood Of NOD's armies wore Grey. The remastered version is almost complete except for this one minor crucial detail. GDI still has the option of choosing Gold as their color, however Grey is missing and traditionalist Brotherhood Of NOD players like me cannot select it, but must settle for second best in choosing Red when playing as NOD. Has anyone else told the developers about this and suggested they remedy this acute annoyance by adding in Grey to one of the downloadable updates for C&C Remastered? ?

  10. I installed the Origin C&C Generals version of Yuri's Revenge, then I installed Purple Alert. The Purple Alert launcher loads fine, but when I click "Launch Purple Alert" the C&C Generals "Ra2 or YR" launcher pops up. When I click YR it just loads the Vanilla YR. Is there any way to bypass something so that I can play Purple Alert? I played it years ago when I had the non C&C Generals version and it was the best mod ever!
  11. Hi all I'm now knee-deep in TD SP mapping and am starting to run into questions that I can't answer via Nyerguds guide, opening the default maps or a lot of googling. Is there anyway to improve the AI on gunboats? They seem to find one target and fixate on it until it's dead. If it moves out of range they won't change target to anything else. This is on the "Hunt" AI used by gunboats in all the campaign maps. I've tried putting gunboats in a difference House (Multi3) and using "All to Hunt" on them to refresh their AI state and hopefully get them to re-target, but "All to Hunt" kicks in for every AI unit in every House. I've also tried creating them as a teamtype and giving them MOVE-HUNT-MOVE-HUNT instructions to try to refresh their AI (I had hoped they would ignore the move instructions), but that just results in them swanning around in the water in a really weird manner. I'm unsure where newly built Orca's will arrive from? I have a House (located SE map corner) where the reinforcement edge is set to South, but Orca's seem to come in from the right side of the map, or from the top-right corner? Do player A-10's always come from the top-left corner of the map? Is there anyway to control this? If Chinooks are buildlevel 98 and so are Wooden Fences, is there anyway to give the player the ability to built Chinooks without Fences, or is that just how it is?
  12. Is there a way to attack move? Also is there a way to put a way point for buildings? I grew up with the original C&C and I appreciate they didn't include these features, but I find them rather fundamental now. Many thanks for any response.
  13. Here. is another Suggestion. For C&C Remastered let me know if you want to see C&C Remastered. Remove the limit on Units/Buildings. Or Keep both having a Cap. Like on the original TD/RA1 Titles.
  14. As C&C Remastered. Is coming in a few weeks. Here is a suggestion. for it Let me hear your thoughts. on this Have the way how walls are build changed? Or remain the same as the originals? The way to change it is. Where you can build multiple Walls. Like how Tiberian Sun Increased. it. That way. It would make building walls. In C&C Remastered have atleast a purpose. :)

EA has just announced the Command & Conquer games that will be Remastered Today EA producer @EA_Jimtern announced that they are remastering two classic Command & Conquer (C&C) titles: The original C&C - Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert Remaster starts with Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, but that's not all EA Partners up with Petroglyph You read that right. This is huge. Why? For those who don't know, Petroglyph Games is a company that was originally started by former Westwood Las Vegas developers and responsible for games like Star Wars Empire at War, Grey Goo and 8-bit Armies. This means that Westwood veterans such as Joe Bostic (responsible for much of the code in C&C and RA) will be working on the remasters. Joe Bostic from the announcement: Lemon Sky are in the mix too, bringing 4k with them! Lemon Sky Studios are being brought in alongside Petroglyph, which will "bring the 4k glory". They are one of the premier art studios around the world, with a unique speciality in remastering classic RTS titles, including Starcraft. Frank Klepacki is back That's right, with Petroglyph comes Frank Klepacki. Confirmed by his tweet just a moment ago and in a YouTube video published from the announcement. Let your voice be heard! Jim has been adamant from the start about community involvement and feedback and will be listening to feedback from across the C&C community so this is your chance to get your thoughts heard and head over to the Reddit announcement post

So i bought the command and conquer ultimate collection and installed generals and zero hour and everytime i play zero hour it just randomly crashes and exit's and gives me a you encountered a serious error which ive seen it a typical thing but nothing ive tried has fixed it and it just keeps crashing randomly. Any other suggestions? Ive tried uninstall and reinstall, options.ini,windows service pack3, run as admin, direct x install. What else can I try to fix it for windows 10?
  17. Hello there, could you please add in the feature to scroll with the right mouse button? It is one of the most comfortable features that came out of this series and I can't believe that even today, many RTS games doesn't include it. So yeah please add it in. BR Finalzero

  20. Similar to the Convert Operations expansion, Where the GDI & NOD emblems appear on structures like the con-yard & hand of NOD in convert ops. Make them appear especially to structures both factions share like the Power-plant, Refinery, Comm-center etc.. Just like in C&C3TW. Logos/Emblems were on "everything" which made it felt authentic to the factions. It'll benefit Online multiplayer making it easy for players to identify what faction that structure belongs to. This maybe a small detail but it could change the way the game feels & play in a positive true C&C way.
  21. In C&C: Red Alert vehicle named as "V2 Rocket" is a 9K52 "Luna-M" or "FROG-7" in NATO reported name. I suggest to improve the vehicle name or make it optional. Ingame vehicle model. "Luna-M" (FROG-7) – Soviet short-range artillery rocket system. V-2 – Nazi Germany long-range guided ballistic missile.
