  1. @EA_Jimtern posted a remaster update on the official C&C Subreddit. This should hit some nostalgia notes...
  2. I only got to play C&C Sole Survivor a little while before the servers went down and didn't get to try all its modes but it was pretty cool having every unit controlled by a player. Plus some of the more elusive units made an appearance. Isn't it the only game where you could play as a Viceroid, or at least the classic style Viceroid? Hopefully it wouldn't be too big a project to build it into the remasters.
  3. Latest announcement from @EA_Jimtern - read the full announcement on the C&C Sub Reddit.
  4. The past year a few of my old favorite games got their official servers shut down. No one plays those games online now. I know the C&C community will always find a way to play C&C online but do you think it woulda been good if these old C&C game servers shut down? Honestly I think so. Don't get me wrong it's nice to still be able to play these games online but I think it would have been "healthier" for the games to be shut down rather than be on life support until no one logs in anymore.
  5. EA has just announced the Command & Conquer games that will be Remastered Today EA producer @EA_Jimtern announced that they are remastering two classic Command & Conquer (C&C) titles: The original C&C - Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert Remaster starts with Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert, but that's not all EA Partners up with Petroglyph You read that right. This is huge. Why? For those who don't know, Petroglyph Games is a company that was originally started by former Westwood Las Vegas developers and responsible for games like Star Wars Empire at War, Grey Goo and 8-bit Armies. This means that Westwood veterans such as Joe Bostic (responsible for much of the code in C&C and RA) will be working on the remasters. Joe Bostic from the announcement: Lemon Sky are in the mix too, bringing 4k with them! Lemon Sky Studios are being brought in alongside Petroglyph, which will "bring the 4k glory". They are one of the premier art studios around the world, with a unique speciality in remastering classic RTS titles, including Starcraft. Frank Klepacki is back That's right, with Petroglyph comes Frank Klepacki. Confirmed by his tweet just a moment ago and in a YouTube video published from the announcement. Let your voice be heard! Jim has been adamant from the start about community involvement and feedback and will be listening to feedback from across the C&C community so this is your chance to get your thoughts heard and head over to the Reddit announcement post
  6. So I was cleaning out an old computer desk and found an old CD set with Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, Yuri's Revenge and Renegade. I purchased these legally, like from a store and everything. It brought back some memories so I thought I would try to play them. To my dismay, my Windows 10 laptop won't install them. That led me to Google which eventually brought me here. So I'm not the brightest dude around, but nothing on any of the other forums seemed to be able to get these to work. That included trying to run them as an admin and in compatibility mode. Eventually I ended up here, and wondered if the CnC net 5 download might be able to help me. However, when I try it, I am told that I need to have Yuri's Revenge installed. So I have an ancient Yuri's Revenge disk, but don't know how to get it to actually install. A rather quick glance through the forums here didn't seem to address my issue, so I thought I would see if anyone had any ideas. I am not really interested in most of the online type of things because I am old and likely terrible, I really just want to play the single player campaigns and if it evolves into something else, then cool. Anyhow, are those disks worth anything in terms of trying to get play these old games? If this has been asked and resolved before, I apologize.
