  1. Hey, so I want to recommend the classic C&Cs to some people I know, and they may be more likely to try it if it's free. However, while the first free C&C games were released as freeware, the primary sources of downloads are down, the only way is through 3rd party mirrors and the C&C Ultimate Collection includes them for a price. So are the first three games still considered freeware?
  2. I was just wondering but is this an issue that is on the team's radar? If you take my name Bane_ for example on this month's RA ladder, there is a total mix of average fps for my games (as low as 43 fps even...). By way of comparison, if I'm playing normally on CnCNet I can quite happily be in 8 player games with it running at full speed without any issues at all. Multiple other people suffer from the same issue if you go checking through the names so I'm not sure what's up really. It isn't lag but when a game decides it's going to average more around say 40-50 fps, you experience it as a periodic hitching all the way through the match (right from the word go so it doesn't worsen as more and more units and structures are built) and it leads to a pretty unpleasant game as it messes around with your build timings and Q and so on in what should be a fast-paced game. Is there any obvious culprit that could be causing dropped frames like that? Restarts don't seem to help, neither does running the quickmatch client directly with CnCNet closed and as few other programs open as possible.
  3. on the CncNet5 (RA, TS, TD version) there is usually a flashing green button that says "streaming" whenever someone is live on twitch but it doesn't show anymore. When shall this be fixed.
  4. Hi there just downloaded and installed Tiberian Sun Online from here. Whenever i want to start a game (TSMPLauncher.exe) (for instance i select Skirmish and then just Launch Game (with the default Map & AI Opponent)) i get "Unable to read scenario" Message and after clicking the ok button the game just hangs on a black screen. The same happens when i download Red Alert Online from here. Happened a few month back on Windows 10 v1809. Now happens on a clean, fully patched Windows 10 v1903. Hardware is an HP Elitebook 840 G5 with an Intel i7-8650U, 32GB RAM & NVMe SSD. No compatibility mode on any exe. Default Graphics settings: Automatic (DDrawCompat & ddwrapper doesn't work). pleas help! thanks Note: Separate Single Player installation of Tiberian Sun 2.03 works (classic & firestorm) so the hardware & os clearly can run tiberian sun.
  5. I want to edit the vehicle and building graphics. Where do I find the original graphics and where do I have to place the edited ones in cnc to replace the original? Greetings and thank you

  10. Hi, I was trying to fix a problem that cause my game frequently freeze after a few second of game starting. I searched many similar problems but there is nothing solve my problem. I tried almost every thing that I can find in the game folder. My PC is win10+amd ryzen 5+ GTX1080ti. Finally I found the problem is the "VideoBackBuffer" option in redalert.ini. When I set VideoBackBuffer=No my game start to work properly. There should be something wrong when it is Yes by default. This really troubled me many days since this option is not in any game config UI. Hopefully this will help the others that have same problem and this could be fixed soon.
  11. Greetings. This is my first thread. I have been modding CnC since like 2010 mainly for fun. One thing i noticed is that with increasing number of units and when the base get larger, there will be serious "traffic jam" where the AI player unit simply overcrowding the base and cannot move at all. I wonder if there is anything i can do to eliminate or at least reduce the possibility of such "traffic jam". As i found it kinda reduce the "fluidity" of gameplay and at some point slows down the game to some amount. (noticeable in Playstation version of Red Alert) The following is some of the example "traffic jam" from my gameplay Second example. Thank you very much for any response given.
  12. We're going to have a ladder map poll soon, you can suggest maps that should be added to the poll here. If it's a new/unknown map or a modified version of a original map then please add a screenshot. https://ladder.cncnet.org/ladder/11-2019/ra/
  13. On a Mac running VMWare Fusion with Windows 10. Game runs run, but whenever I go to "Play Online" CnCnet loads fine, I select online, and the chat window loads but never connects / no one is ever on it. Is this some network setting I need to change (I'm an Apple guy haven't used PC's in close to 20 years). Or is there another plugin or patch to install. Again the game runs fine and this loads, just can't seem to "connect" into the network. My father is running this same game on a Mac through the Wine Emulator and connects and plays online all the time. I had the same thing working but just upgraded to Mac Catalina today and it wiped out the game. Thanks for your help!
  14. Hi, I have a group of 4 of us that are all trying to play Red Alert online against one another and we are all having the same trouble. It appears we keep losing connection but not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  16. Hello, there. I'm trying to play Red Alert 1 as part of the Ultimate Collection, but the game keeps crashing on me, particularly whenever I reload a save file. I've already patched the game with FunkyFr3sh's installer and followed the advice given here: So far, it's still not working and I have no idea what to do. I have a crash dump. Where do I need to upload it?
  17. Hey there, Can any1 tell me how to make a custom ( or any ) map a auto-ally map?? Cant find it in both the editors. Thnx in advance! Michel
  18. I have had CnCNet installed for over a year. Suddenly, it won't load Skirmish mode (or Online mode). When I select "Skirmish", I get an error message: "SHA1: no access to memory location" I am using a Mac, but I have not upgraded macOS to 10.15, so I expected everything to keep working, even though there is no longer a Mac-specific download. Is there some way I can debug the problem? I can't see any recent files in the app folder that look like logs or crash reports, but I may be looking in the wrong place.

  21. All maps that receive more than 50% of the votes will be added. If there is none then the two maps with the most votes will be added only. Poll will close automatically in 1 week. This poll is for ladder players only, please don't vote if you're not interested in playing ranked games! https://ladder.cncnet.org/ladder/11-2019/ra/
  22. Is this one ddos me or what. Cos i hardwired to the internet with 300 down and 20 up no throttle no vpn Unable to read data from the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine
  23. I was trying to be careful and the map worked in its early versions. The version have now is causing myself and other players to desync about 5 minutes into the game with this custom map. The map is kinda fun and different. Tried to take inspiration from starcrafts style. Its not too radical. But I think my questions are what makes the red alert 1 (include aftermath) dsync online? Consider its custom map, unit alterations, image changes. Worse case scenario I'll release it as a single player skirmish map. I make use of the spawn file that holds images of c&c dawn units. The RAedit adds triggers. I tried deactivating the triggers and teams hopping that was the mighty fix. Well didn't seem to do it.
  24. Added some new features such as saving position of the window and alt+enter to switch between window/full screen. https://github.com/CnCNet/cnc-ddraw/releases Red Alert Config: http://downloads.cncnet.org/addons/ra-config.7z C&C95 Config: http://downloads.cncnet.org/addons/td-config.7z Download and extract the files into your game folder. (You may not want to extract ddraw.ini, otherwise you may override your settings)
  25. We removed the macOS downloads since Apple dropped support for 32-bit applications in their latest version of macOS (10.15 Catalina). Downloads might be added again at a later point once there is a solution for supporting the new macOS Catalina. If you're running a older version of macOS you can still try to install the games (C&C / Red Alert / Tiberian Sun) manually: Step 1: Install wine-stable https://wiki.winehq.org/MacOS Step 2: Download the following script, right-click and select Open https://downloads.cncnet.org/cncnet.command.zip If you're running the new macOS Catalina 10.15: Use bootcamp: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468
