VladimirStalin
:ranting: I would like to know as to why this is tripping my Norton? You say the crapware is removed, yet this is still triggering my anti-virus. Please explain as to what is happening or why you guys can't code something that can't trip an anti-virus? FunkyFr3sh
you can upload it to virustotal.com and you will see all the files are totally clean, norton/symantec is well known for being one of the worst antivirus software that exists .. so please dont blame other people if you are using such horrible software read this here about norton: http://www.codeandweb.com/blog/2012/06/23/how-symantec-ruins-independent-developers you can also google to find more info about symantec and their crapware btw, i also recommend AntiVir like the guy on that website. Im using it since many years and i never had such problems you can get it here: http://www.avira.com/en/downloads
pichorra
Avast trips about unknown software, maybe Norton also do it. When I compile a Hello World in C it warns me... And also, I do not recommend any Symantec software when it is related to security due the well-know fact that happened arround 2006. The crapware we commented here is just a joke about his "1-click install" feature, which in most installers it includes useless toolbars and such that are not included here. Nyerguds
You say the crapware is removed, yet this is still triggering my anti-virus. There was never any "crapware" in it. They were just being assholes to me for the extras I added in my patch
VladimirStalin
:O Wow...Is my face red or what. Sorry for that...outburst. I just was a little confused as I had recently been screwed over by what I thought was a ROM of Battletanx. Anyways, thanks for the info.
Matt
We had that problem, too for OpenRA. It was flagged as possible malware because few people installed it and it was unknown to Symantec. https://github.com/OpenRA/OpenRA/issues/3326 also has some links where to submit for whitelisting. FunkyFr3sh
yes, i was trading emails with symantec before. It seems like they want me to send them an email every time i update any of the files...
