CnCNet Client

 

The map browser (left click the map preview) supports now mousewheel scrolling and category selection via mouse button 4/5

 

 

Tiberian Sun

 

A bug was fixed that could give players an unfair advantage

 

2 New hotkeys were added, ChatToAllies (default: Backspace) and global chat is now available via Return (same as F8)

 

 

Red Alert

 

The limits have been raised, Infantry:500->550, Buildings: 600->650, Aircrafts: 100->150, Units: 500->650, Vessels: 100->150

 

A bug was fixed that caused the game to glitch (Crash/OOS/Disconnect) when the unit limit was reached, sidebar icons will not gray out anymore when the limit was reached and you don't need to right click to be able to build again

 

2 New hotkeys were added, ChatToAllies via Backspace and global chat is now available via Return (same as F8)

Fixed a bug where the client didn't find a LAN server (Raised the timeout)

 

Fixed a bug where the mouse wheel scrolling in the map browser didn't work all the time

 

A right click on the map preview in the map browser will now open the map in its full resolution

 

Fixed a bug where the selection of the map in the browser was ignored

 

Hints can now be translated, check directory CnCNet5/Others for all files

 

Russian translation was finished - Thanks to sergey

 

Chinese translation was finished - Thanks to wyq

 

3 new tiberian sun game options have been added to the gameroom

 

Fixed a bug where the text in the about dialog was invisible (Linux / Mac)

 

Fixed a bug where the chat textbox color became black/invisible (Linux / Mac)

 

Fixed a bug where the client did not maximize after the game was finished (Linux / Mac)

 

Fixed a bug where the chat did not scroll to the bottom after minimize/maximize  (Linux / Mac)

Red Alert

 

All important game files are now cached on gamestart and the game will not read data from your hdd during game play anymore

 

A bug was fixed that caused the game to slow down if no music is installed

 

A experimental debug patch was added to solve a game crash on Macs

 

 

Tiberian Dawn

 

A experimental debug patch was added to solve a game crash on Macs

 

The explosion crate has been replaced with the ion blast crate to test if the popular crate crash still occurs using another crate type

 

 

CnCNet

 

The client will now default to 4 player games for tiberian dawn since 5 and 6 player games are still broken (out of sync problems)

 

A workaround was added for players in the UK, specially those having virgin media internet provider (could also affect other providers).

P2P games failed to connect often cause internet providers in the UK put their customers behind proxy servers (Web Safe / Child Safe / Virus Safe).

Improved the filter on the login screen to prevent bad nicknames that were leading to problems

 

Alt+F4 can now be used to close the client

 

Window position and size are now saved with high DPI settings too

Fixed a crash that occurred sometimes when text was copied into the chat textbox

 

Debugging of Out Of Sync errors has been started (still a long way to go though)

 

Performance improvements for client start up and the friendlist loading time

 

 

Red Alert

 

Fixed another mouse cursor crash on Mac/Linux (wine)

 

A possible cause for game disconnect/Out of sync was fixed when a player hit abort during the match

 

Out of sync errors were replaced by a better solution, the game will now try to kick off the offending players and allows the others to continue playing

Fixed a bug on windows 10 where things didn't align properly on resize

 

AI player selection dialog was fixed on Mac

 

Fixed a Peer-to-Peer connection bug - The chance to connect is now higher for those having problematic connections

Running games are now displayed with a darker font

 

Random country will now have 50/50 chance for soviets/allies (Red Alert)

Super Tesla fix can now be optional (will be enabled soon as checkbox in the client)

 

A in game chat command has been added - "!spec" will force all spectators and dead players to leave the game

The client supports now using multiple tunnel servers in 1 game combined with p2p connections via "Automatic" server setting (Mixed Mode)

 

Skirmish games will now have 1 ai player preset on startup

 

A new "explorer" button was added to the map cheat dialog to browse to the selected map quickly

Minor visual updates

 

The server list is not showing all servers anymore since the client will use multiple servers inside of 1 game now automatically. Servers are chosen by connection speed (Chinese servers are a exception, multi server games are not working well for chinese)

 

Removed country flags from game rooms (except chinese server games)

 

Dropped support for old tunnel servers, the client will only use the new tunnels from now on (except chinese servers)

 

Added more empty space between the lines to make it look cleaner

Updated automatic server choice for chinese players (New Hong Kong tunnel)

The lag message in the top left can now be disabled via redalert.ini -> [Options] LagWarningDuration=0

 

A new option has been added to redalert.ini for older computers -> [Options] LowCpuUsageScroll=yes

Changed default game settings for Dune 2000

 

Disabled /PortTest command in game rooms

 

Closing all running games now when a new game room was joined to avoid bugs

 

Fixed a bug with bad Credtis/unit count settings

 

Fixed a rare crash on wine (Linux/Mac)

 

Game hosts are now kicked off a room after being 30 minutes afk

 

Score screen will now highlight the winners and the best stat of each category

 

 

Red Alert

 

Fixed a bug that could end up blocking the game port in case the game doesn't fully close and continues to run in the background

Automatic map upload / download for dune 2000 (Thanks to shao and mk for the help)

Right click on the map preview will now open the map editor for dune 2000 (editor must be located at: "Map and Mission Editor/D2kEditor.exe")

Possible fix for mac/linux game files incompatible bug when starting a game

Bigger server choice for chinese players

Oh, I didn't change anything about that one yet (have no good solution for it yet)

But how about the other annoying error that happened when a game was about to start? I tried to fix that one, didn't hear anything about it yet. Does it still happen?
