C&C Red Alert: Able Archer

Took a while, but I finally finished a full conversion mod for the original Red Alert. 

Able Archer is to portray how Red Alert would have played out in the 1980s. I tried to make it as realistic as possible with the limited engine.

Simply unzip the archive into your Red Alert folder. Make sure to backup existing EXPAND2.mix, hires1.mix, rules.ini, and aftrmath.ini.

This was tested as working on Red Alert from TFD. It should work for every other platform, as it's only graphics replacements, and ini editing.

Original campaign works, as do most of the extra missions. Ant missions are strange, as ant units are used for regular buildable units.

 

Known bugs:

Game crashes when loading more than one game. Simply restart the game and you can load another save.

Transport Helicopters will attempt to leave the map when Spetsnaz board them. This is hard coded.

The same idea (RA1 on early 80's real warfare) came to my mind. It was a long ago, but only now, I decided to something to do. Firstly, I wanted to get some question answers.

This one is not the OpenRa, as i understood, and based on classic RA1 engine, am i right?

Unfortunately, this is for the classic RA only. I only tested the mod for TFD edition with 3.03 patch. I tried it on a fresh TFD installation, and it works, but it gets the rainbow colour effect.

Sorry about the late reply, I was a bit busy with work.

If you find a bug, please let me know. I will be able to work on this in about a month, so ill try fixing everything I can then.

      I was trying to be careful and the map worked in its early versions. The version have now is causing myself and other players to desync about 5 minutes into the game with this custom map. The map is kinda fun and different. Tried to take inspiration from starcrafts style. Its not too radical. But
      I think my questions are what makes the red alert 1 (include aftermath) dsync online? Consider its custom map, unit alterations, image changes. Worse case scenario I'll release it as a single player skirmish map. I make use of the spawn file that holds images of c&c dawn units. The RAedit adds triggers. I tried deactivating the triggers and teams hopping that was the mighty fix. Well didn't seem to do it.
