I am trying to update the game but it keeps saying that : An error occurred while updating. Returned error was: too many retries for downloading file Resources/ddrawcompacttb.dll" any help?

Hey guys would love some help, I cant find my friends game online, we switch positions, he creates a game and I cant find it and vis versa. how can I invite him into a lobby I create or vis vera…… thanks for the help.
