unbind F1 currently = chat function

Not sure if this belongs into TS or cncnet, I only have TS installed.

Is there a way to unbind or rebind F1? Because I have a key set for F1 but in multiplayer non-AI skirmish it opens up the chat line. ?

F1 to F7 are messages for specific players in MP (Multiplayer). 
F8 or Enter is for All.
Not sure you can unbind thous... try to use ALT+F1 or smthing to set your keys.

Why not shift it to F5-F11 for players. or F6-F12

I think it's hardcoded by default from westwood even early days when we played on xwis servers.
