  1. Ah ok that explains a lot, I have somehow sorted the issue although not entirely sure how . Anyway my new playthrough of each game and expansion pack has begun in earnest. I think Red Alert 1 will always be my favourite though.
  2. Tested it and it still switches back to opengl as the renderer. No problem though its more than decent with the videos as they are right now.
  3. I'm willing to try it! I assume its not linked on this site though? or should I do some digging using the search function?
  4. Thanks for the help! That certainly cleared up the lag issues! Only downside is it makes the videos smaller http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg294/Antaeus06/CnCgdirenderer.jpg The option to stretch them is greyed out in the config once the renderer is changed to gdi. But if this is the only side effect of having no lag then I can live with it .
  5. Thanks for the quick hey! I have been finding the patches and fixes linked on this forum really useful but I have already run into a snag haha! I've posted in the repair bay, very easy to use site!
  6. Hey chaps, I downloaded the latest version of this patch: http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/ and while its solved my colour issues and the game now runs, it runs in a very jerky way. Videos jerk and lag every couple of seconds, the menus are slow to respond, and the gameplay lags. I'm not sure but could it be an option in the configuration program that comes with the patch that may be causing it that I need to change? I'm sure I've used an earlier version of the patch on another install a while ago and it didn't have these issues :/. I am using the ultimate collection version of the game that is on origin, any help would be great! Thanks in advance :].
  7. Hey all, Used this site before for help on making sure stuff works properly. I think I inadvertently ran into a high profile member from this site in this post I created last year over on the CnC forum: http://www.commandandconquer.com/forums/index.php/topic/26476-how-to-get-some-of-the-older-ones-working-in-a-nutshell-d/#entry274853 Anyway I just built a new PC ( still using windows 7 though, hate windows 8 ) and had trouble getting the older CnCs working. None of my usual fixes worked very well so I went searching online. This site came up and I remembered how useful it was when I used to lurk on it so decided to register and post here . So anyway HEY COMMANDERS!!
