  1. Haha, bingo, it's working now ... Ok, should I also bother with the versions 5-8 or what it was there, or keep on playing version 2 to see if it crashes?
  2. Haha, I will ... For version 2 I have only played one game so far, but it worked flawlessly. In-game sounds are there as well, just chat lobby sounds are still missing for some reason...
  3. Ok, that means the update will be installed automatically and I don't need to re-download, correct? And you're right, I only installed TD so far, so that's why there will have been so few open games. Not sure what's up with the sound then, but I'll see about that. Oh and I forgot to reply regarding your suggestion to just take the explosion crates out of the game. As far as I'm concerned you can leave them on for now, that way I can check whether my hypothesis about Humvees being the "offender" is true or false. Even if it won't be fixed, I'm curious to know whether I was right about my observation ... or an optional crate fix on/off as Clausewitz suggested would be ideal of course, but I suppose that would require a bit more work?
  4. Arghh, guys, I have bad news. I downloaded version 2 yesterday to try playing Tiberian Dawn on it, and it seems to be severely dysfunctional :/... The first thing I noticed upon going into chat was that there was no sound. All the usual chat sounds weren't there, even though they were all turned on in the settings. Also, there were only two or three games in the list at the left-hand side, where there's usually at least a dozen... A friend of mine opened a game that did show up in the list, so I joined and we tried to get it started, but I encountered an exe-error immediately upon starting. In fact we didn't even get as far as the C&C loading screen with the usernames of the players... So we tried it again and the exact same thing happened. A crash at this stage has never happened to me before. I'll post the screenshots below, and also the error messages I got each time. I compared a couple of values and they seem to be identical, but I didn't check each and every one of them, so I'll post them both. Let me know if you want me to retry with different settings, or try Red Alert, or anything else... The first one: And the second:
  5. To be honest, I have no idea what a wrapper is, nor what OpenGL is ... And I actually skipped versions 1-3 since Clausewitz said they weren't working well ... should I go back and download version 2 to check how it works for me?
  6. I downloaded version 4 yesterday and played around with it a bit. First, when I started it and clicked on Tiberian Dawn, I got an error message (see screenshot). Then I clicked on Red Alert, which installed without a problem, and afterwards when I clicked on Tiberian Dawn again, it installed as well. I played one match, without any issues whatsoever. No scrolling speed problems or anything. Should we maybe open a new thread for these test versions so as to not clutter up this one too much with off-topic stuff?
  7. That's true of course. But given that NOD seems to be the preferred faction by many, I'd say that one would expect a NOD scouting unit (so buggies or bikes) to be associated with the crash more so than a Humvee. And I actually started picking up crates with APCs a while ago, mostly because of the chance of getting an invisibility crate (an invisible APC is big), so that it happened to me with a Humvee as well is also somewhat suspicious. But as I said, I'll report back on our experiences... if it's not linked to Humvees I'm pretty sure we'll get a crash from a different unit sooner or later.
  8. Ah I see, the explosion crate crash is already well-documented. Should have ran a forum search before posting. My bad. But has anyone probed into the specifics of which units cause the crash? Because on the screenshot in the thread that Funkyfresh linked to it's a Humvee as well. Me and the other players are kind of crate fans, so I don't think I can convince the others to just leave crates out, but I am going to pronounce a ban on picking them up with Humvees. Maybe that'll help, and I'll report back either way. I'll also test the different versions of the new CnCnet and report back as well.
  9. Right, I forgot to mention: twice so far the crash has occurred when a GDI player drove a Humvee into an explosion crate. The crash then occurs immediately (simultaneously with the sound of the explosion in fact, which is kind of fitting). And I'll give the new Mac version a try, already downloaded it yesterday after posting.
  10. Upon request from Clausewitz, I'll also post my screenshot from the thread I just opened over here. I encountered my problems in Tiberian Dawn, although I've also had an exe-error in Red Alert two weeks ago or so, but I didn't take a screenshot at the time. And like I said in my thread, I cannot access the error details, when I click on 'Show Details' it takes me back to the CnCnet chat. It appears that Clausewitz and I share the same platform, i.e. Macbook Air running OS X 10.10.5. Maybe that helps narrow down the search ...
  11. Hey all... I'm fairly new to CnCnet, but I've been playing a series of multiplayer games with friends recently, and we encountered some problems. Basically, it regularly happens that our game crashes at some point (so far, always at a relatively advanced stage). There are two types of crashes and corresponding error messages. One is an issue with cnc95.exe, see screenshot #1 below. Unfortunately, when I click on 'Show Details', I'm taken back to the CnCnet chat for some reason, and I have found no way to access those details. For the other one, see screenshot #2. Platform is a Macbook Air, running OS X 10.10.5. I thought I'd post those here, maybe someone has an idea what is going wrong, or if not just to report the crashes to those in charge here ... I can of course also give further information about the crashes if necessary.
