i appreciate you checking through your maps. But sadly, those two are not it. Sucks.. i can see it in my mind, but im missing a few details. Its possible the land/water edge was more straight instead of triangle type. But im pretty sure the diamonds were that shape. Its also possible it might have been a 3v3 instead a 2v2. But its the same set up; one side vs the other. I spent many a hour playing that map on multi player back in the day. Could spend an hour or two just amassing an army some times lol With equal players that kinda stale mated each other in the early/mid times, it jsut became mass production of everything. It was actually quite fun. Only down side was it was still at the time where ppl were still switching off dial up to cable/dsl. So sometimes an hour in and youde suddenly loose a player. Tho the 2 on 1 fights would be brutal to survive. But fun lol

I always had wished the actual campaigns of ra1 and 2 were longer. They had the last mission as some for of a 'super mission' (ish). But i would have loved it if they had made that mission more around the middle mission of the campaign. And had several more big missions after that. - So if the normal campaign was 10 missions (1 easy, 10 hard) then make it 15 or such. With the same 1-10 plus 5 more super missions. Take those last 5 to the extreme lol.

I think you need to make one last mission It keeps running around n my mind. I just have no skill at making a map/mission. But i think it would fit nicely in the over all mission story line of your extra mission campaigns. Its nothing overly complicated, idea wise. I would be interested to have a real tri-unholy alliance mission. Tri against tri. - I think starting out with all three mcvs would be less entertaining. So i was thinking something like starting off as allied or soviet with there mcv. Going up against Yuri who also has a fully integrated allied and soviet base from his psychic abilities. Yrui has a massive base, defenses, and offensive ability. But its not fully active at the start. - Instead it starts off with you and your one mcv at the bottom of a map. (Huuuge map). And yuris send out two mcv's (one of each kind you dont have) Down towards the sides of your base to deal with you. - Point being a 'logical' way for the player to be able to attack and capture those two bases which would give him true tri-power. - Then a couple min after the last base is captured... Yuri's mega tri-base at the top of map comes online with his extreme capabilities. And then you have a real brutal tri vs tri fight. - With lots of ore about. Making the challenge in the brutal and fast paced fight itself. Not just difficult because low money. That was my preliminary idea at least. And I think you'd be the guy to make it (i get visions of some of my old online fights some 20 years ago. On custom maps, 2v2 usually. Each side with hundreds of units. Everyone just waiting for someone to light the fuse lol They were fun times!)

oh yea, i saw that all the time in this mission. There was often two mcv units roaming about. thats what i ended up doing as well. At least to get in and destroy the super weapons at the right side yuri base. Once all those were gone and it was just the weather storm only, that was manageable and i could take my time. It was kinda unintentional tho. I sent a kirov to try and destroy the bridge where units were crossing at. By the time it got there i saw just how close it was to those super weapons and figured a couple of them might have a shot. And sure enough it worked. Good thing too. I didnt rly see a land rush working well for me. Especially once that pscyic dominator is online. Im guessing not? Not rly sure what id be looking for. I was pretty much just enjoying going through the missions.

finally finished the lat soviet mission. ill admit, that one was a bit of a challenge for a while. You kinda need to rush an attack to deal with all those super weapons, which kinda goes against my instincts. My first try i got hit by the weather storm bout the same time i just got the mcv. So yea... i usually take time. Couldnt do that for this mission. It also meant capturing there bases was a lot harder. But i got it done The Right side base makes mcvs like crazy. Very hard to knock them out and keep them out without a full invasion. At one point i had knocked out most of the right side base before realizing i could capture everything since i got the super weapons taken out. By then they only had the allied war factory, yuri barracks, and power plants left. So they couldnt make anymore mcv's. After quite a while i started focusing on the other base. And while doing that i suddenly start hearing a bunch of 'unit lost' over and over. I go and look, and half the right side base is back. Not sure how that happened, but it allowed me to capture the right side base anyway. But then they kept making mcv's over and over. I start capturing several of them as you can see in the pic lol. - So apparently they can keep making mcv's even without the standard buildings required to select it. It was a fun campaign tho. Good work on making that. - I think the only thing left now if a 3way unholy alliance mission lol

Sometime my need for near perfection makes me do things like this on many missions. Cant just win easy or fast.. gotta capture every single allied building. Kept my starting four tesla tanks alive and leveled up along with my initial 6 apoc tanks which comprised my invasion force of there base. This also might be a reason why im always well past the par time... lol
-
i believe that. I always prefered playing as allies in ra2. I find there buildings and units better imo. At least for ra2. It changed the dynamics when YR was released. But when i played online as a teen, it was all ra2. The air force, prism defense, rocketeers, spy sat (love you spy sat!).. i just always liked them better. So i find soviet side slightly harder just because of that. Ra1 was the opposite. I always liked the soviet side better. Tesla coil, heavy tanks and migs.

i rly wish those damn uranium trucks in mission 3 would show up on the radar better. (not your doing). Or that i had better sight, that would be nice too... question about mission 1 that i forgot to ask... If were sending tanya back a few days or weeks, then why does it matter if we destroy that tech center and base? It wouldnt effect anything in the past.
-
i just started this last night. Only finished the first mission so far. But i get the feeling that someone was in a sarcastic/sadistic mood when they started creating this lol. When i started the first mission i sold off the ore factory for cash, then while exploring i saw the ore... and then im thinking 'aw shit, maybe that was a bad move. Looks like i have some time after all'. ... ... ... 20 seconds later ... ... HOLY SH!T!! There everywhere!!!! No time! No time! No time! RUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNN!!!! lol Start of mission 2: Make sure the allied base does not fall. *starts with 6 infantry' lol hint: search for creates. ... Goes to create; all explored area shrouded. >><< Goes to next create with tanya... it explodes... -_-

New Campaign : Yuri Resurgence (Yuri 12 Missions, Yuri's Revenge)

that could be interesting. Yuri style forces vs yuris forces. Considering the special nature of how there forces work, it could be a challenge. And/or claim salvaged buildings form the soviet forces on the moon. Those Unholy alliance skirmishes come to mind. Hidden chronosphere recreation attempt or time machine under the soviet buildings. Create a tri way unholy allience under players command against yuri.. lol God, i can only imagine trying to make a campaign like that. I imagine that would be incredibly hard and tedious and time consuming.. -

oh wow! Thats awesome to hear. I wasnt expecting that. I never had the patience on map maker on the original version when i was a teen. So i know that making all these must be one hell of a task. it was fun. And it kinda ended the story line more fittingly lol You are where yuri wants you -

i thought the moon mission was gonna be a pretty huge mission. It gave that feel from the introduction. I was surprised when i made my second building and it was almost right in range of the enemy base lol. But it was fun having an almost relaxing mission by that point. - Still trying to figure out how we are drilling for oil on the moon tho.. lol It was a fun campaign. And since its been probably 20 years since i got to play a 'new' ra2 campaign, it was pretty awesome to have that again. -

It was ok once i figured out how to avoid the instant fail. Cant fight against a instafail lol. Once that issue was figured out i was fine. Even finished under par time which i usually never bother doing lol. -

mission 12, what the hell is causing 'all the psychic amplifiers activeated at once'? It keep happening over and over and i just lose my whole base at once. Its still early in the mission, the first nuke hasnt even gone off. I havnt entered there base yet to trigger anything. -

finally finished 11. Got that weather storm destroyed long before its first use too Irritating finding all those hidden mirage tanks to finsh the mission off. Gotta say tho, adding bonus crates that shroud the whole map... thats a dik move lol. Glad i had spy satalights. -

New Campaign : Yuri Resurgence (Yuri 12 Missions, Yuri's Revenge)

yea, that was my first thought too. Trouble is the destroyers often do not atk my boomers at this point, they all target the ampfib. Even if i leave the amphib at the start area in the south, and i take the boomers up to the enemy sub pen at the northern most of the screen, they just ignore the boomers and travel all the way to the east then to the far south to go find the amphib. It was really weird, but thats what kept happening to me. So my only hope was making a run for it and trying to get the boomers to take out that prism before amphib is in range or the destroyers catch up. I think maybe the game itself bugged up on my run. But im not kidden when i say i had my boomers at the southern most that u can go form the Landing zone in the north west and destroyers sitting at the enemy pen in the centeral north, were atking me from that location. There planes flew over the entire island to reach me. - Ill see if i can get a vid of it. Oddly enough, building a sub pen was the only way around this. As soon as i do, those destroyers that were targeting form so far away, will run over to my pen face to face and i could take em out. Then it went back to normal. -

damn.. 11 is a bitch. Took me 20 tries just to get the starting transport to the island. Enemies would just ignore my boomers and all go straight for the transport irregardless of whether i engaged or not. Took a lot of tries to get one that worked. But i still havnt been able to take out that weather storm machine before it goes off. Tried a lot of things and they all failed so far. To make matters worse... wtf is with letting enemy destroyers atk form half the map away???? If my boomers at my base or south of my base launch any atk, then destroyers from over at the enemy sub pen can atk from that far away. You can watch those little planes that come off the ship fly all the way across the map. Granted, there is only a single structure on our island that you can hit with a boomer... but still.. -

im not positive on this one, but figured id mention just in case. The very first time i put units into einstiens building and he came out, there was sudden explanatory text on screen. But i didnt get to read it all in time. (or i forgot specifics, which is possible). I 'thought' it said 'create a yuri and mind control Einstein'. After that i noticed i couldnt even make a yuri clone. And was confused for a moment. - Luckily my three start unit yuris were still alive because i hid them in the back corner of my base. They all had apocalypse's controlled so they were valuable to keep alive at the start/middle. I was disheartened to have to give up one of those, level 3 apocs, in order to control einstein. It might have said to use one of those original yuris and i just missed it. But i thought it said create one. Moving on.. I think it was mission 10 i was on. Gotta say, that was a good opening scene. Showing the big soviet base to fight... ok, np.. then a second soviet base.. bahh, that always makes things a pain... then shows an allied 3rd base... oh fk, this is gonna be a fight! lol Getting rdy to start 11 (i think). The first time weve seen a huge allied force/base. Iv been curious how that would play out. Because weve mainly fought soviet forces up until now. Benefit of apocalypse tanks is they walk up and punch you in the face. Much easier to mind control with base defenses (unless damn iron curtain active) but those prism tanks hit form a good distance, and those planes cant be mind controlled.. should be an interesting fight!
