Game speed

Hi all, 

I am a beginner in cncnet and I have a question related to the game C&C tiberian dawn in online format at cncnet. How is it possible that in multiplier games in the first 2 minutes, while I barely build the basic things of my base (power plant, barracks, refinery and few things more) the other players already have explored the map, have lots of units and already can start an attack? As a result, after 5 mintutes I am already out of the game.

I do not use keyboard shortcuts, but when I play the game speed is enourmosuly slower than in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUAmIfqwtXI&list=LL&index=1&t=377s .

Could help me in understanding why this happens? Is it a matter of game speed that I did not configurate well in my computer, maybe my computer is not fast enough or something else?
