How do you manage the awkwardness of the side bar at a low resolution?

Especially where you may use different build orders and have different lay outs. 

Its just so damn awkward and slow.

Any pro tips? Thanks!

 

(Just pure repetition and nothing more?)

(lay it where you need it and use only certain units rather than trying to move it all the time?)
