  1. Yah, I go to download the movies from Tore's links posted in other threads (found 'em by googling) and they are ridiculously slow! I got the CommCenter version of TS, the one in your downloads section, then I applied the patch itself (which I guess was redundant, but I thought maybe it would have the videos). The description said it includes the movies, but I did not see any options for installing the movies. Everything works except the movies, I'm downloading the movies.exe from Tores post in this thread right now, and its actually decent speed (only 10 minutes). Thanks Tore, I hope it works. Does it include Firestorm movies too? BTW, installing a mod like, say, Tiberian Sun Retro, for the Comm Center TibSun version - thats doable, right? Simple file extraction?
  2. @Liam: The Wind Trap could cost more, but, I left it the same price, because I did not want to disrupt cash flow at early game. I want more units sent out, and less buildings built. Even though the Construction Yard and the Wind Trap provide more power, its not that much more power. Basically, you now need half the amount of Wind Traps that you would have needed before, at most. Making the WInd Trap cost more, it eats up the cash for bigger battles. There isn't really much of a balance discrepancy between the original Wind Trap power output, and my modified stats - the game pretty much is the same. I want less turtling, more KILLING! hahahahaaaaa. As for the Raider. Its the stealth raider. That thing is awesome. The original Raider, although better than the Trike, wont last long on Max Tech battles. I could devise a plan to revamp all of the scouting vehicles, trike, raider, stealth raider and quad... maybe refit their weapons or something... upgrading the Light Factories to make fielding them light vehicles a more valid option late game would be interesting.. I'll think of something consistent, hopefully. My main thing was Infantry, but I might as well make those light vehicles get going good too! - - - I've posted this topic in the Dune 2K forums, this question: HOW TO GET the turret of the Siege Tank to rotate. I've done it before, and posted my findings, but I can't find my post because the search engine at D2K forums does not dig deep enough - originally I posted my findings on that site at least 4 years ago, but when I search my Name, the only results come back to 2014.
  3. Its a basic mod, and I'm using TibEd to create it (sorry). As I work on it and make changes, I try to record every change I make, plus record my intentions, the plans for future tweaks and adjustments/changes: Link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/oidfzc6mxq6w7wc/Mack%27s+D2K+Mod.tib#39;s_D2K_Mod.tib -All infantry self heal (Like the Devastator tank, to 50%) -Seige tank weapon now uses "special" warhead, instead of HE. I adjusted this warhead's damage "versusNone" set from 90 to 50. This is the warhead that OrniThopter bombs and Death Hand missile use. ^^ My intention for this was to make the Siege Tank not completely decimate platoons of infantry in one shot, and according to my playtests, its working! Siege tanks are still a bitch, but infantry wont just dissappear when facing one, lol -Deviator warhead vs. "None", set to 100%. Now the Deviator can kill infantry. * I'M REALLY TRYING TO GET IT TO MIND CONTROL INSTEAD OF KILL INFANTRY, but its proly hard coded. -Fremen "non stealth" infantry now have real fremen voices, instead of generic army voices. They still aren't buildable, but just in case I add them later they'll have proper voices -Made sadukaur look like hes firing a canon against tanks. I changed his 2nd weapon's firing GFX and sound effect to that of a tank canon. He now actually has two weapons, a machine gun for infantry, and a cannon shot against tanks. Instead of using two different machine guns, one weaker against soldiers, and one stronger against tanks, the tank weapon now is a tank cannon shot (with the warhead and everything). The damage values are adjusted to balance out with Troopers; Troopers are still useful (much cheaper). - ^^ I also applied this same design change to the Stealthed Fremen, although the fremen use the "Weirding" sound FX for both weapons still. I tweaked the two weapons to look like an explosion occurs on every shot, to make it look like hes an advance Fremen with psychic abilities or something. You can't even build the guy, he still spawns thru the Palace, so I made him a little more powerful. - Atriedies Stealthed Fremen versus the Sardukar is a good fight! - The trooper now has the machine gun that Light Infantry have, in addition to his missile launcher. If infantry are close enough, he'll switch to his machine gun. - The Grenadier is now Ordos special infantry, in single player and multi. - I have changed the Saboteur. The "M Tank SEC", the unused 2nd weapon for the Missile Tank, I have changed to be a force fire suicide weapon for Saboteur. Its very similar to the Devastator suicide blast, except you have to force fire (AI might not be able to use it properly). It works pretty cool, because now you can use the Saboteur to attack units, he can kill a group of soldiers. I believe you can attack units no problem, but in order to attack buildings, you have to force fire close to the building. 2 Sabotuers can take out a Construction Yard. The Saboteur can no longer go inside a building and demo it. Saboteurs are faster now. He still has the timed cloaking. - All multiplayer only units are now available in single player (lol, I love using Thumper in single player), except the Sardukar - The Harkonnens only get him in Multiplayer, although you can still get the Sardukar in campaign by capturing Emperor palace. I tweaked the single player and multiplayer Sardukar unit stats to be identical. -Missile Tank is now available for Ordos thru Heavy Factory. - Concrete, walls, and silos build very fast, so you can setup those wall sections easier. -CY and Wind Traps give more power. Less build space required now - you don't have to jam your base full of windtraps. - Turrets & silos do not drain power. Again, less windtraps required. Rocket Turrets still power down when at lower power. - - - - Thats about it so far. The next thing I want to do is make the Siege Tank have a turret that rotates. I did it before, but I can't remember how. Instead of replacing the turret with one of the Combat tank's turrets, I used the original siege tank turret and somehow got it to rotate. I posted my findings on Dune2K, I'll have to dig that info up. Any tips on modding this game? - - - - I've been having fun with my mod in conjunction with D2K+'s Build Queues patch, the High Resolution patch, and the 8 players skirmish patch with allied AI players at start of match!   5. Is it actually a solid feature in Iran's new RA release? I tried it once, I allied with my adjacent opponent. They stopped attacking me, but didn't really do anything else. They didn't even send task forces out to engage the rest of the players, and this was an 8 player FFA. Although, maybe the Paranoid tag was set to yes, not sure what that one is with this latest release. In all CnC games, cept maybe the new ones (CnC3, etc. onwards), the allied AI sucks shit. How to make it better, THAT is the question...
  6. K, this game is working online. EXCEPT SOMETIMES MY FUCKING MOUSE CURSOR DISAPPEARS HALF WAY THROUGH THE MATCH JUST WHEN I'VE GOT MY FORCES SET UP. That is complete bullshit. If I turn off peer to peer mode will that stop this fatal glitch from happening? I swear to fuck, this is the worst atrocity ever. How the fuck am I supposed to compete with no god damn fucking cursor to see what and where I am clicking? BLASPHEMY! Please, fix this glitch... somehow, someway.
  7. yah I know. On infinite money maps, with 6 wfs, 3 bars, 8 refs, still need silos. But he says it like every 2 seconds. What about the type chat thing?
  8. Hey how can you tell before the match starts if the match has aftermath units? I want my missile subs. How else am I supposed to fight cruisers, turrets, tanks? I need tanks, rockets and msubs. Also, is there a way to kill the guy that keeps saying silos needed? Can I swap the sound file out with blank wav file? I really don't need to hear that bitch bitch, all the time. I'm not made of silos, ok. I don't want to build your stupid fucking silos. I have over 20 grand, thats plenty. Theres gotta be a way to implement crap into the AI so that for human players, tedious shit like needing silos could automatically be built by the AI. Also, auto queuing.
  9. lol, woops. OK, now in my router I have Red Alert listed in the given programs. I allowed it in the exceptions. It says that it's Port is 5009 and I can't seem to change it, nor delete it. I can't seem to edit it at all. I made a custom application exception for the firewall, called it RA, gave it the port 8054. I tried to call it Red Alert, but the original one wouldn't stand for that. I can't edit the original at all, and this custom one doesn't seem to do anything. I'm considering just getting the DMZplus mode, but I finally learned how to make a static IP so I want to use the one I just made. So I fire up CnCNet, test the port forwarding, and it says to me I have a faster peer to peer connection working. However, the detection is not perfect. How do I get this thing perfect? Online play is solid enough, but there have been times where my cursor disappears on me, or some hideous choppy lag occurs sometimes with more than 3 players. Also, the in game chat and team chat, I can see what I type, but when I hit enter, what I typed doesn't show up. I can see other player's responses, but not my own messages when enter them in. Is that due to lag as well? Because you really should be able to see what you've typed out after you hit enter to run it through. I mean, WTF?

In the CnC Net settings, I have HOST: serve.cncnet.org PORT: 8054 Use Faster Peer-to-peer checked Command Line Arguments -LAN I hit OK, wait , then get this: "The CnCNet server seems to be down. You are in Peer to peer mode, is your UDP port opened?" I guess not. I set up an exception for Red Alert in my routers settings, and in the firewall. WTF?
  11. Probably because I didn't present my quest properly so more people could understand. But, yo, it works now! I got a new FunkyFr3sh IP address, one that wont get copied over to one of my other PCs. Thanks guys. I now have a static IP address, so I can port forward. It is about fucking time I tells yah.
  12. OK. I tinkered a bit. I have gotten through that link's tutorial without any hiccups this time, no error messages at the very last minute. I have the correct addresses and shit. But then, after successfully assigning a static IP address, seconds later, a message pops up saying Windows detects a PC on this network has the same IP address as this PC. And I can't surf the internet. Anywho, I believe I have to do the aforementioned process on all of my PCs on my network.
  13. No, I'm just ah, well, I'm a layman, so bear with me. All 3 of my PCs get automatic IPs and stuff from my router, so when I create a static IP address, having followed all the instructions from the link (http://portforward.com/networking/static-win7.htm), I get the the error message saying theres a conflicting IP address. I believe I have to set up static IP addresses for all three computers so they can all access the internet. Is this correct? It's because of this part though: "The name server entries are a bit complicated. Name Server is just another name for DNS(domain name server) server. Some router's act as a proxy between the actual name servers and your computer. You will know when this is the case, because the Default Gateway will list the same ip address as the Name Servers entry. We need to have the correct Name Server IP addresses. If we do not, you will not be able to browse the web. There are a couple ways to get these. The first way is to log into your router's web interface, and look at your router's status page. On that page you should see an entry for DNS Servers, or Name Servers. Write down the ip adresses of your Name Servers. Another way to get the correct Name Servers to use, is to give your ISP a call. They should know the ip addresses of your Name Servers right off. If they ask you why you need them, you can tell them you are trying to setup a static IP address on your computer. If they try to sell you a static external ip address, don't buy it. That's an entirely different thing that what you are trying to setup." yeah, this is the part where things fuck up for my stuff. So I'll have to tinker around with it alot more, but for now I'm getting hammered, and blindly posting a question to my problem.

Oi, I tried doing THIS: http://portforward.com/networking/static-win7.htm And at the end my PC kept saying: "Warning, the default Gateway is not on the same network as is defined by the IP address and subnet mask." I went to my gateway's site, and copied what was there. Why the fuck ain't it the same? There are two more PCs on my network.
  16. Yo this game is BACK! But what the fuck are the chat and team chat keys? It's not in the launcher's key shortcut's list, or at least this retard couldn't see them. Also, playing over CnCNet, it seems very laggy. Most if not all the matches I've tried to join in the past hour after I downloaded it all resulted in a 100 second wait timer, then the game reset. The one game that did start off, would almost periodically freeze for about 3 secs or so. WTF is this shit? I just downloaded the UpNp whatever thing. How do I use it?

  18. Cool. OK, it asked for the CD. But I ran RA95_TLF.exe, and it keeps asking me to run it in the RA directory, and I am! I extracted it and the other files to the desktop, then copied them into the directory. Any thoughts? I think the registry is fucked or something, but I don't really know how to tamper with that. And because of Arda, I'm proly gonna get a fresh install of RA from the official ISOs. Arda looks so cool!
  19. No I mean the original RA95.dat. I was hunting around the mix files but I couldn't find it. I'm using a no CD version of RA, I believe it's patched to 3.03. I'll proly just dl the nice clean ISO's from EA next month, but for now, if I can do this I'll just fucking do it.

  21. Oh sweet, thanx for da quick reply, I forgot to PM you yesterday. The ra95-303-hires-launcher-alpha2.exe is separate from the RA95.exe OK so the thing is just too ridiculous right now that it needs the separate exe. FUCK! Well I'll at least watch the movies through XCC - - - And it's not ridiculous, it's completely reasonable! Don't know 'bout you, but my eyes don't fail me when distinguishing between Grenadiers and others while sitting comfortably away from my screen, even with your infantry scale fix thing, and I've never experienced said slow down. My monitor requires that resolution - anything else is just too odd to look at, know what I mean? The gfx look smoother, nicer, better this way, you can barely notice the pixels.
  22. I'm gonna PM Nyerguds, but does anyone else know how to get the Lost Files counterstrike & aftermath movies patch thing to run without it's own executable so I can use the High Res exe instead? Or vice versa? Or something? Please help, am very nostalgic right now, but must play in 1920 x 1080 ONLY, no buts!
