  1. I'm experiencing severe lag playing a simple skirmish cause the game refuses to run on the nvidia card and instead runs on the useless intel integrated graphics.

    I've looked for solutions but can't seem to find any whatsoever. Does anyone know how to run Generals and Zero Hour on the dedicated graphics card?

    I'm playing this on a laptop with a Core i5-8250U and a GeForce MX150. I'm running the Origin version from the ultimate collection and I have Bibber's fixed launchers. I haven't noticed much issues with the campaign, but during skirmishes when the AI goes crazy with the unit spams, the game lags to near unplayability. I had the same issue with RA3 and Uprising, but after setting the nvidia card as the preferred graphics processor both those games ran fine.

    But Generals on the other hand simply refuses to do so. Even after setting it as the global preferred processor, there's no change.

    Has anyone experienced this issue and found a workaround or something??

    Still haven't finished it... No time :(

    Shift+S

    If it doesn't work check hotkey: menu > game  controls > keyboard => category interface -> screen capture

    This worked! Thanks! :D

    where are these screen shots saved ?

    In your RA2 directory. It's saved as a .pcx file. Some ancient DOS era image format.
    Just convert it to a png or jpg and you're good. :P

  4. Dude, Deezire is a mod which has a game mode called crate war, where you get many boxes.

    The Official Tournament Map is a standard map, Just the mod makes it so lots of boxes show up. You can find and play the same map on CnCNet except without so many boxes.
    But you can't play it with so many crates showing up unless you mod the map or somebody decides to add a crate war mode to CnCNet. :D

  5. So I was trying to take a screenshot of a mission in the campaign using the PrtSc key, and when I checked it, it had taken a screenshot of my desktop.
    So basically taken a screenshot through the game like it wasn't even there.

    I know it's only a minor thing, but is there no way to take screenshots anymore?? :huh:

    The mission itself is finished, but string-tables (ingame mission briefing) are still not working yet. (How can I do this?)
    And there is no custom starting screen yet. Play it by starting the allied campaign.

    Any luck with this? It's kinda confusing what to do when the briefings are all gibberish.
    Still haven't finished the mission, but ooo wheee! it's a doozy! :D:D:D

  8. Most of these missions overwrite the ra2md.csf file which changes all the fonts in the game, globally.
    Is there a way to find and backup the existing one?
    I searched but can't find it... :(

    Is there a way to use XCC Mixer or something to find it?

    Edit:
    I used XCC Mixer and found it in langmd.mix
    Extracted it and now all good :P

  9. Okay, fixed it! And it was super simple too :P

    So place the ddwrapper stuff in your RA2 folder and open aqrit.cfg and change all these values to one

    Quote

    ForceDirectDrawEmulation = 1
    NoVideoMemory            = 1
    SingleProcAffinity       = 1

    And save!

    The single processor affinity is what fixed it.
    Forcing DDraw emulation and no video memory is what you change to get the game working, which I knew from before.
    But the single processor affinity I didn't.

    Thanks for the help @Chrono Vortex :D

  10. Anybody knows how to fix this?

    I followed all the instructions here to the letter, but while playing the campaign, every 2 minutes minimum the game just freezes.
    Audio and everything works and the game is still going on, but it's simply unplayable.

    This is the ultimate collection version and I'm playing on Windows 10

    For skirmish matches just into the RA2 folder.

    If you want to play it online with CnCNet it's the maps folder.

    Okay so i did this. Skirmish worked fine except eventually the game crashed xD

    But now when I try to play with it online, the map fails to transfer to the cncnet map database. What do I do?
