Dasha
Hi, I already have Red Alert 2 (+ Yuri's Revenge) on CD. I'm tempted to buy it digitally on Steam but I'd like to know if the game is DRM free or not ? In other words, if after I install it via Steam, I can just copy it to my second PC to play LAN. Some games, even on Steam, are DRM free. Steam does not necessarily means DRM. And on the game's page, it's not clearly mentionned, hence my question here. D.

I've been told by CCHyper: Only the game launchers have Steam DRM applied, the main binaries are not. So as long as they run Game.exe/GameMD.exe they should be fine. Ex - Red Alert 3 has an online activation DRM, I guess it has not been removed.

Dasha
I've just tried to install RA2 from Steam. I've sopied the content of RA folder (in steamapps/common) into a different location. I can start the game from that location. However, if I uninstall the game from Steam, I can't start RA2 anymore from the location where I copied it. I get this error : So I'm not so sure this game is really DRM free. EDIT - apparently, this message is because I need to enable the compatibility mode and tick the option to run it as admin. So not linked to a DRM. Edited October 9 by Dasha
