Newbie can't run red alert in WIndows 8

Hi all,

        Just discovered this site and got me all excited. Played Red Alert to death back in the day and would love to get back into it on Windows 8. Got too impatient to try to sort it out so jumped on this forum straight off to find out why I get the following message when I click the MiniRA.exe. 'Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.'  help pleeease.

I don't have Win8 but it sounds like you need to make sure you are the administratorof the PC and if you are the administrator of the PC make sure that the MiniRA.exe is being run as administrator with full elevated rights and privileges.

You probably downloaded the file to a folder you don't have permissions to execute files. Download it to your desktop or something.
