Redalert1_online.exe problems

I was getting an error when I opened redalert1_online.exe that said "redalert1_online.exe has stopped working". I couldn't get past that so I just uninstalled and deleted everything in that folder and downloaded everything again. This time I am getting Error 2[1]: Please check your permissions and Anti Virus/Firewall settings!

Also close all programs that might access any of the files in the game folder!

 

I do not have an antivirus or firewall running and even went to add c&c95 and redalert1_online.exe to the exceptions anyways and still cannot get it to work. Any suggestions anyone?

 

I am using windows 7 64 bit.

Could be that you are not administratorif the computer. Make sure you have full administrator privileges with your Win7 account.

yes, run it as admin

That was one of the first things I did and that did not help. I ended up rolling back to a restore point from a month ago and it seemed to work. all good now.
