recoil56 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 How do I fix this error? I'm using the Red Alert Scenario Editor (the standalone one, not the Edward one). Thanks!
Allen508 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 It is not an error. It is telling you that you need Verison 2.00 or newer of Red Alet. Versions older than 2.00 did not support maps that have more than square 9216 tiles. Just about every one is using the newer verison 3.03. The most common is one of the many V3.03P by Iran. Verison info is found at the main title screen below and to the left of "Exit Game" or start a mission, skimish or multiplayer game and hit Esc and it found below and to the right of "Abort Mission" Below is screen shots with the places boxed.
Jacko Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I'm hoping you mean to the right and below abort mission. Basically Version 2.00 is the Aftermath Expansion, which is when megamaps were introduced
recoil56 Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 So I get the error (which really isn't a error, that's fine). The real issue is this: 1. Start a new map with 126x126 dimensions 2. Work on it a little, save, get size warning, file saved 3. Close RAED. Next time I go in and try to work on the file: " File not found". "Error 1". 4. File proceeds to not open. What exactly is going on? Thanks for the help btw.
Jacko Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 RAED occasionally gets a saving error. after you click 'save game' if it says error then try saving again
Allen508 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I'm hoping you mean to the right and below abort mission. I did. Sorry. So I get the error (which really isn't a error, that's fine). After the version warning it should say "saved" or "error". Also do not make your file name larger than 8 characters long. (12345678.mpr) Also don't use spaces in the file name. Use an _ for a space (12_45678.mpr)
recoil56 Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 THERE WE GO No more than 8 characters. Thank you!
