Running Custom Rules.ini

I found some really nice rules.ini for Red Alert 1 I want to try but I have no idea where to put them it get them to work. I've tried putting them in the main folder and the Maps folder, but none of those have worked. Some help would be very much appreciated.

to play on cncnet you'll have to rename the file to spawn.xdp

 

Windows hides the extensions by default, you might need to disable that first. Or open both files (your rules.ini and spawn.xdp) in notepad and copy everything over
