  1. nice idea killa why i didnt get this idea, hehe...
  2. The XWISC tool is not running fine on vista. u can just download and start XWISC but it cannot write the AWOS IPs or any other IP/s into the hosts file when u want to apply the IPs by clicking on "Set (XWIS)" until XWISC is fixed for vista. You'll get an error message like "Cannot access/write hosts file". I want to tell how to configure the hosts file manually on WIN VISTA. By default, if you try to modify your hosts file in Vista, it will not let you save it. It tells you that you don't have permission. To successfully modify the hosts file, run notepad.exe as an administrator and open the file. 1) Browse to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories 2) Right click "Notepad" and select "Run as administrator" 3) Click "Continue" on the UAC prompt 4) Click File -> Open 5) Browse to "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc" 6) Change the file filter drop down box from "Text Documents (*.txt)" to "All Files (*.*)" 7) Select "hosts" and click "Open" Make the needed changes and close Notepad. Save when prompted. This is the IP which is important to play on AWOS: 208.53.169.203 More informations here: http://www.cnc-comm.com/page.php?10 outdated! The hosts file has to include these informations to play on the AWOS Servers: # Copyright © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp. # # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows. # # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name. # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one # space. # # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol. # # For example: # # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host 127.0.0.1 localhost 208.53.169.203 irc.westwood.com 208.53.169.203 servserv.westwood.com I generated a hosts file to play on AWOS. Make a backup of your current hosts file, ull find it here: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts Download my generated hosts file and put it into this directory. I hope this will be a faster way to play on AWOS under vista and maybe u dont need the XWISC tool anymore I gonna try to update this topic. hf on AWOS :D >> Updated: XWISC Tool for download
