Thanks for doing this, Solo. It will be nice knowing that all the buildlevels are correct. This truly is a great compilation of maps, after all. -

Is there still any chance of having these BuildLevels fixed? Many of the corrections I listed still need to be observed. I would certainly like to have a pack free of BuildLevel errors. -

Hey Solo, have you managed to update the pack yet with the new BuildLevels? -
Tiberian Dawn - GiftS After War Mini-Campaign => WIP
Lightning Hunter replied to GiftS's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Just completed mission 4. Overall, this was a great little campaign. Mission 3 was definitely the best mission in the pack. With a few tweaks, it could be my all-time favorite map. Mission 4 was a bit typical - seeming very similar to the last NOD missions in the original game (it was not very difficult). It was still fun, though. I'm looking forward to the GDI campaign! I hope there will be more commando missions that require you to be creative in order to win, like mission 3 of the NOD campaign. -
Tiberian Dawn - GiftS After War Mini-Campaign => WIP
Lightning Hunter replied to GiftS's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Hey GiftS, just thought I'd let you know that I've been playing through this campaign lately. I'm really enjoying it so far (just completed mission 3). Mission 3 is the best one so far, but I have a few complaints that make it frustrating. It could be far better if these are fixed: -Smoke signals should be placed on all the landing places for the Chinooks. Otherwise, if you don't have any units with long sight (like mammoth tanks or a commando) then you can't see far enough to find a place for the Chinook to land. This is bad, because it means you can't complete the mission without uncovering enough ground to land with the Chinook. This is especially true for the tech center on the island at the bottom of the map. -The mission should be an automatic failure if all the Chinook's are dead. Otherwise, you can waste time trying to complete the entire mission, not realizing you still need Chinooks to win. I did this myself when I thought I had destroyed all tech centers in the mountains, sold my Chinook for money to make another mammoth tank (to raid the last base), and later realized there was still one more tech center in the black that I missed (only accessible by the Chinook). Therefore, I wasted almost an hour assaulting the last base, and had to restart the mission. -The odds are a bit unfair. I had to kill 168 units of GDI and only lose 7 myself in order to win. I had to manage my budget wisely, sell just the right amount of units, and build 7 mammoth tanks in order to overrun the GDI base at the end. I think there should be a few less Advanced Towers in the last GDI base. Otherwise, I have to do a lot of loading/saving to get lucky enough to win. other than that, I am really enjoying this so far. I'm now on mission 4. -

I wish someone had told me this when I posted the questions months ago (and again recently) before I looked through hundreds of .ini files... Anyway, Solo, the rest of the corrections I've made should still hold true. The only ones that no longer apply are the changes with the NOD missions that go from buildleve 13 to 15. So a majority of the work is still done for you. You only have to go through and double check the accuracy of the rest of my list. -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Ok Solo, after many hours of reading all the readme files and carefully studying the names of the original .ini files, I believe these are all the mistakes. about half of these mistakes have to do with BuildLevel 13 of NOD that should be 15. SCB102 BuildLevel=13 SCB106 BuildLevel=1 SCB108 BuildLevel=1 SCB113 BuildLevel=11 SCB115 BuildLevel=15 SCB117 BuildLevel=15 SCB119 BuildLevel=15 SCB120 BuildLevel=15 SCB121 BuildLevel=15 SCB122 BuildLevel=15 SCB123 BuildLevel=15 SCB124 BuildLevel=15 SCB126 BuildLevel=15 SCB131 BuildLevel=15 SCB132 BuildLevel=15 SCB133 BuildLevel=15 SCB134 BuildLevel=15 SCB135 BuildLevel=15 SCB139 BuildLevel=15 SCB140 BuildLevel=2 SCB141 BuildLevel=6 SCB159 BuildLevel=7 SCB160 BuildLevel=15 SCB161 BuildLevel=15 SCB162 BuildLevel=15 SCB164 BuildLevel=15 SCB181 BuildLevel=15 SCB185 BuildLevel=15 SCB188 BuildLevel=12 SCB191 BuildLevel=15 SCB217 BuildLevel=15 SCB901EA BuildLevel=15 SCB901EB BuildLevel=15 SCB903EA BuildLevel=15 SCB904EA BuildLevel=15 SCB904EA BuildLevel=15 SCB904EB BuildLevel=12 SCB904EC BuildLevel=15 SCG109 BuildLevel=15 SCG140 BuildLevel=1 SCG165 BuildLevel=15 SCG173 BuildLevel=12 SCG182 BuildLevel=15 SCG208 This Level should be for NOD, not GDI BuildLevel=15 SCG211 BuildLevel=15 SCG219 BuildLevel=15 SCG217 BuildLevel=15 SCG219 BuildLevel=15 SCG226 BuildLevel=15 SCG227 BuildLevel=13 SCG231 BuildLevel=14 SCG232 BuildLevel=8 SCG233 BuildLevel=11 SCG237 BuildLevel=10 SCG238 BuildLevel=10 SCG258 BuildLevel=15 SCG259 BuildLevel=7 SCG263 BuildLevel=15 SCG264 BuildLevel=15 SCG276 BuildLevel=15 SCG319 BuildLevel=1 SCG900EC BuildLevel=14 SCG901EB BuildLevel=2 SCG903EA BuildLevel=1 SCG903EB BuildLevel=2 As for Wounded Eagle (SCG95), I believe the BuildLevels just need to be in numerical order. For example: SCG95EA BuildLevel=1 SCG95EB BuildLevel=2 SCG95EC BuildLevel=3 SCG95ED BuildLevel=4 SCG95EE BuildLevel=5 SCG95WA BuildLevel=6 SCG95WB BuildLevel=7 SCG95WC BuildLevel=8 SCG95WD BuildLevel=9 SCG95WE BuildLevel=10 SCG95XA BuildLevel=11 SCG95XB BuildLevel=12 SCG95XC BuildLevel=13 SCG95XD BuildLevel=14 SCG95XE BuildLevel=15 The only thing left to mention is that the Assault missions seem to be lost. They were in the original pack of yours, but are no longer there. I'm not sure what you did with them. Also, are you going to add the latest missions created and released on this forum? -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Ok, I get it now. But you still didn't answer my question. Did you skip any missions in Wounded Eagle, or did you make them all in order? I can't guess what the buildlevels should be until I know what you replaced with what. -
Tiberian Dawn - The Huge Collection (single player)
Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Not sure what you mean by "then W series e by last X series." But as far as I can tell, the buildlevels should just go like this? SCG95EA Buildlevel=01 SCG95EB Buildlevel=02 SCG95EC Buildlevel=03 SCG95ED Buildlevel=04 ..And so on, all the way to 15. All the buildlevels will be wrong if you skipped any missions though. Like if you replaced SCG95I with SCG11 or something (instead of SCG9) -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Solo, I was trying to give you the correct buildlevels for Wounded Eagle today, but I can't without knowing which missions you replaced with what. I noticed there are around 27 missions in "levels.zip", yet only 15 missions in SCG95.zip. There is no way for me to know which missions you replaced with what. You have to tell me what they are, if you know. For example, SCG01EA = SCG95EA, SCG02EA = SCG95EB, etc. Otherwise, I can't accurately read the buildlevels. Thanks, Solo. -

Yes, but the BuildLevel for NOD mission 13 is 15. Take a look at scb13.ini in general.mix. -
Tiberian Dawn - The Huge Collection (single player)
Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
I understand that, but I still don't see Wounded Eagle, Assault A, or Assault B anywhere in the downloads (I was going to check the buildlevels for you). I have downloaded every file, and they don't exist anymore. All I'm asking is if they were removed. Are you in the process of adding them back or something? Edit: Hey Solo, I have another question for you. Why did you sometimes change the buildlevel to 13 in missions that should be 15? For example, in mission.index, you say this for scb181: "recovered mission / Build Level was 15, now is 13". However, the mission is supposed to replace the final NOD level, which is buildlevel 15. If you open the original scb13EA.ini in General.mix, the buildlevel is 15, not 13. There are quite a few missions that I've come across that should be 15 instead of 13. -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
I didn't realize you did any updates. I just now downloaded them all again. Hopefully my buildlevel changes still apply. Why is there no download link to SCG95 on the first page? Also, I don't see "Assault A" or "Assault B" anywhere in the new compilation. Were they taken out completely? All I was asking was if the .ini files inside all the zip files are the same as the ones in the .mix compilation. If I open SCB100.zip for example, it contains 20 .zip files, each containing two .ini files (the original, and the new one created by you). I just want to make sure the one created by you is the correct version. I am basing all my work off these zip files. What I do is open each zip file, compare the two .ini files, read the readme file, and give you the correct buildlevel off that. If the .ini files are out of date, then I will waste hours of my time, so I'm just double checking. -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Solo, I'm confused about something. When I download all the individual .zip files, such as scg100.zip, scg120.zip, etc. - they come with individual maps. However, I've found that some of them do not appear in the list in the game. For example, "SCB164 - Assault - Campaign A - Skibinski and English" does not appear in the New Missions list. Instead, I see "The Framing". Are the .zip files up to date? I was using them as a reference, but now I'm not sure they are the correct missions... I can't give you a list of missions to fix unless I know the proper order. Are the .ini files contained in the individual .zip files up to date? For example, if I open "SCB102 - The Steps - Gary Bryson", I find "SCB102EA.ini". Is this the latest file contained in the compilation? Can I use this as a reference? Or should I go through and extract all the .ini files from the .mix files? -

Whoops, I had to go back and read it again. you are right. Hey Solo, why was scg095 taken out of the compilation? Also, please ignore my earlier list on this thread for corrected buildlevels. I'm updating them again based on the info Nyerguds gave me. The next list will be complete, and have accurate buildlevels. -

Thanks for the reply. My question was about how the old C&C handled the buildlevels before your patch (which you answered in the 2nd part of your response). Sorry for not clarifying. So basically, I should disregard the buildlevel in the original .ini and instead go by the name? For example, if the old file was SCG09EA.ini, then the buildlevel should be 9, since it previously replaced mission 9. And of course, I should look at the readme file to clarify that this was the intention of the author. If it was a cover operations mission, then I should use the actual buildlevel included in the .ini file. Correct me if I'm wrong on any point! -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Hey Nyerguds, are you around? I need some clarification on something. At what point does C&C actually use the buildlevel in the .ini file? Is it only with Covert Operations? For example, some of the old 1996 missions have readme files that say GDI levels 1-3 are replaced, yet the included .ini files have different buildlevels like 8, 11, 99, etc. Does C&C disregard those buildlevels and instead go by the mission number? For example, "SCG01EA" would default to buildlevel=1. Or does C&C actually use the buildlevel in the .ini file? I need clarification so I can help Solo fix the buildlevels in all these missions. After all, the buildlevels for the "New Missions" menu need to be set correctly. Thanks. -

Solo, I think SCB164 "Assault - Campaign A" as well as SCB165 "Assault - Campaign B" have the same issue as Wounded Eagle. The readme files state that these missions are supposed to replace NOD missions 1-5, yet some of the buildlevels are set to random things like 5, 6, and 8. Also, here is a list of all build errors I have found so far in the other missions. I am still looking through them. I am about halfway done. I'll report any more bugs I find. SCB106ea BuildLevel=1 (you have it set to 13; it should be 1) SCB113ea BuildLevel=11 (you have it set to 15, but the readme file says it should replace mission #11) SCB117 BuildLevel=15 (The original replaces mission #13 I think. BuildLevel is currently set to 95, which I'm sure is incorrect). SCB119 BuildLevel=15 (readme file says it should replace the last NOD mission, but is currently set at 6). SCB120 BuildLevel=15 (readme file says it should replace the last NOD mission, but the buildlevel is set to 96). I still have many more missions to look through, but I'll report other bugs to you as I find them, Solo. -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Hey Solo, I was looking at the buildlevel of Wounded Eagle some more today. If you look at the .ini files included in "levels.zip", they have strange build levels. For example, "SCG02EA", which should be the 2nd mission, has a buildlevel of 15. I think the original Wounded Eagle missions were set up to take the place of the original C&C missions though, so "SCG02EA" should replace level 2, which would give it a default buildlevel of 2. I think the missions need to have buildlevels in correspondence with their level number. So SCG01EA = buildlevel 1, SCG02EA = buildlevel 2, etc.. -

Ah, I see. Well that makes more sense. I will trust your judgement on the quality of those campaigns then. I do appreciate that you root through these campaigns and remove the junk! I am still browsing through the readme files. I'll post more errors for you soon. -

Thanks. What about the buildlevels from 16-97? Do these do anything, or are they the same as 15? I've seen some missions set to random things like 30, 96, etc.. Edit: Hey Solo, Aren't SCB140 and SCB141 supposed to be a campaign? Also, all the Frank Kohlrus maps (SCB142-156) are supposed to be part of a large campaign also, right? Why are these map set up as individual missions? Can't they be together as one entry like Wounded Eagle? -

Nyerguds, do you know what the difference is exactly between tech levels 13, 14, 15, and 98? I noticed that the final NOD mission 13, for example, has the tech level set at 15 (for all 3 of them). NOD mission #12 is set to buildlevel=12, which means that tech levels 13 and 14 are skipped in the original C&C. Is there any difference between 13, 14, and 15? The GDI missions make more sense, since there are 15 of them. As you can see below, every level in the game matches with the BuildLevel, except NOD mission #13, which skips two tech levels: NOD Mission 12 - BuildLevel=12 NOD Mission 13 - BuildLevel=15 GDI Mission 13 - BuildLevel=13 GDI Mission 14 - BuildLevel=14 GDI Mission 15 - BuildLevel=15 Edit: Also Nyerguds, what are buildlevels like 30, 95, 96, etc.? I've seen some custom missions with completely random buildlevels such as these. Are they any different than buildlevel 15? Solo, I've started looking through the readme files. So far, I think I've found 3 errors. I think many of the .ini files that came with these missions originally had the incorrect buildlevel set. Take a look at SCB106ea for example. The original .ini file (that came with the map) says BuildLevel=13. However, the readme file CLEARLY says that it is supposed to replace NOD mission #1. It even says you are only supposed to build minigunners. This mission needs to be changed to BuildLevel=1. Here are 3 errors that I've found so far in the buildlevels: SCB106ea BuildLevel=1 (you have it set to 13; it should be 1) SCB113ea BuildLevel=11 (you have it set to 15, but the readme file says it should replace mission #11) SCB115ea BuildLevel=15 (you have it set to 99, which allows the player to build some things they shouldn't. The readme file says it should replace the last mission). I haven't looked through very many, but these are the errors I've found so far. -

Hey Solo, I might be able to help you out if I get some time by listing the correct buildlevel for each campaign and mission. I think the best way to do this is to read the text file that comes with the mission. The mapper should say which mission was meant to be replaced. I can browse through the readme files and tell you which missions need to have a fixed buildlevel. This way, all you have to do is modify the .ini file with the maps that need to be changed, and re-release the pack. I have a feeling most of the single missions are fine. Most authors intended their missions to use the max buildlevel, as if it replaces mission 15. Do you have an archive of all the readme files? I just realized they are not included with the release. I could use them to start telling you which ones need to be changed. It would probably be a smart idea to include all the readme files with this release anyway, so that credit is given in the form of an intact document from the original authors. The readme files often contain tips and tricks to help complete the missions, as well as other valuable information. -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
For some reason I didn't notice your reply! You are indeed correct; the Wounded Eagle levels do not have a buildlevel set in the .ini's. Solo, I'm assuming this is a problem in quite a few of the missions that have more than one map that were meant to replace original evels. that can easily be fixed by adding a buildlevel that corresponds with the mission number it is supposed to replace. Can you perhaps fix these bugs and release a patched version? I can do it myself of course, but was thinking that a patched version would benefit everyone, and not just my own installation. -

Lightning Hunter replied to Chimas's topic in C&C Singleplayer Maps
Hey Solo, thanks for the response in regards to the large campaigns. I just now tried playing Wounded Eagle for a bit, and noticed that the build level was incorrect in mission 2. I imagine it wasn't supposed to be this way originally, since it was a replacement for the GDI campaign. I think you are only supposed to be able to build ground troops in the second mission, but I could build everything from Orcas to Mammoth tanks, and use the Ion Cannon. Can this be fixed? Oh, and no - I have not created any scenarios; at least not yet. This is actually the first time I've even played user-made maps! I might create a scenario eventually.
