  1. Thank you I used Paint Shop Pro 7 (!) to create terrain pieces, xcc mixer for shp's, rtmtype and pcx2rmt. The beta temperate terrain looks really-really cool, with some way too unusual features, like miniature ridges, odd fords, etc. Rocks behave like overlays (e.g. BOXES1-2)... However I don't think it's a very good idea to make another Temperate terrain set, but rather expand the one we have. Opinions, suggestions? Oh Iran, may I ask you to add BARREN to the list of tilesets for both ra95 and raed?
  2. I'm not really sure tundra needs a completely new different tileset, I imagine that as a modification to winter, with snow patches, shrubs, etc. Autumn would also be like temperate with yellow/red-leaved trees, patches of leaves, and so on.
  3. You tell me I was thinking about a bunch of things, modifying temperate a little bit to create an autumn-like theme, with yellow/brown leaves on trees and on ground patches... Or some otherworldly thing like the Twilight maps on StarCraft. Right now, I really don't know
  4. The jungle theater works, Allen ported it for C&C.
  5. Because it's not a TD terrain set.
  6. I wrote it in a previous comment that unfortunately I was unsuccesful in using spen/syrd/ss/dd/ca/pt/msub.tem files, the game uses shp-s from conquer.mix so I could not create the barren versions of those units. Good sighting, btw
  7. Work completed. Barren tileset now available as a replacement to TEMPERATE. There's a funny bug/feature in the minimap: gold patches glow like waves. Great way to alert a player to resources, though. bar-gold.mix bar-tib.mix pal.zip
  8. Your predictions were correct. Movement flash is ok, but cloaked subs/shadows blend into the water. Thank you for calling my attention to that. Fear not for I will find a solution shortly.
  9. The disturbing water pattern was actually a mapping issue. Added ICE01-05 as well.
  10. Nyerguds: oh yeah I already changed the palette by the time I made the playtesting screenshots but I haven't seen any glitches. So far.
  11. And here it is! Some minor issues are to be solved, however (like adding some water color cycling, correcting shores, etc). Water stuff recoloring didn't work, but boats still look decent.
  12. The tileset is almost complete. I only have to recolor water bound stuff, and then I'll attach the first release.
  13. Wow, well spotted, I'll correct it ASAP.
  14. Kilkakon, tell me your suggestions, I can still change the tileset, but bot for long!
  15. All templates done! Stand by for testing temperat.mix.... may take a while
  16. For your excellent feedback, I've designed some extra sludge cliff joints for you.
  17. Update! - rivers brightened - bridge bit darkened - waterfalls filled with rock I'm not convinced about the road darkening though, I think's they're a nice contrast to the ugly ground. Your opinions, suggestions, please! (even about beaches, if you don't like them, it's now or never to change them)
  18. That is one main feature: a colorless, almost lifeless barren waste. Roads, ridges, fords, falls, river bridges, rivers all done. Still required: Shores, sludge cliffs/falls, camo.pillbox, missile silo, civilian buildings (I'm planning shacks and apocalyptic stuff), etc.
  19. Wow, thanks for your comments, I will go for dry riverbeds. You made some pretty epic comments and a huge contribution to the tileset. Thank you very, very much!
  20. HELP NEEDED I deceided to use huge cracks instead of rivers but can't really deceide which one to use. The left one is a bit soft, eroded, I like the right one better, it has a more crack-like feeling. Please help me by voting!
  21. What exactly do you mean? Use desert stuff and just recolor it? I had a thought about that - probably better for C&C, but all these issues with having different palettes, I just felt that I wanted to do something that works really well with my RA/C&C and the original RA.
  22. I promised to make a "Barren" tileset. Here's the very first, very much test-like picture. Your comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated. The green stuff on the bottom left corner is supposed to be water, I'm struggling with shores though.
