is this causing a no response from servers? I have a similar problem? is it still a problem affecting players?

Hi so have been playing for months and last week I went to play online and CnCnet won't connect.... this is what I get: *connecting **looking up your host name **** checking ident *** found your hostname **** no ident response ERROR: closing like: sharny....... (server) (USER: Bad username) Can anyone help me? I don't know what has gone wrong??
