andrewfashion Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Does anyone else have this running well on Mac OS X? I have it installed working great on a virtual machine using VMWARE. But the mouse sensitivity sucks, etc.. Anyone else have this perfected?
FunkyFr3sh Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 did you try that ? http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/playonmac_playonlinux/
andrewfashion Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 I did that, but when I click Play Red alert (new online lobby) it pops up saying I need winetricks dotnet 2.0 but I cannot figure out howto install that on Mac OS X for the life of me. It's all instructions how to install on linux everywhere I find. I have Playonmac installed, and the trial version of Crossover installed.
andrewfashion Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 I installed Crossover trial, and installed it just fine, but when I launch red alert and click play online (new lobby), same error message about installed winetricks dotnet 2.0. I click YES and it just goes to the website: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3754 There are no MAC instructions on how to install this.
andrewfashion Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 I figured out how to install dotnet on MAC with Crossover, now when the Red alert new lobby launches, it updated, and loaded up, CNCNET popped up, but then I got an error, and it terminated!
andrewfashion Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Is there an install file or just a DLL file? Trying to find information on it, just found this: http://wiki.winehq.org/GdiPlus Don't understand how to install with Crossover though
FunkyFr3sh Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 actually crossover should come with everything needed (dotnet20 and gdiplus) thats why im always suggesting people to use it instead of playonmac :/ for other people it was working out of the box without any problems, so i dunno what the problem you have could be
Matt Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 Another possibility would be https://sourceforge.net/projects/wine/files/Wine%20Mono/ which is Mono cross-compiled for Windows to be installed under Wine. See http://wiki.winehq.org/Mono for details.
