CnCNet5 Installer Not launching

Giles

Question

Title.

Have tried the "cncnet installer" for Tiberian Sun, Yuri's, RA1, even the stand alone. all of them will run just long enough to appear in the processes before it kills itself.

I do own the games via the Origin C&C bundle, though only RA2, RA1, Tiberian Sun, and Generals are installed.

Checked the forums, wasnt able to find anything quite like this.

anti-virus, firewall?

That's what I thought but I figured i'm too under qualified to post it, lol. People need to stop jacking up their computers with antivirus software, operating systems that are ungodly old/new and just using weird things like those computers you put on your lap with shit integrated components or pictures of fruit on them with alien operating systems that need emulation to work with human software. Two biggest mistakes of my life were getting a gaming laptop a long time ago and updating my operating system even though i was warned was incompatible with lots of existing software I use. Then we got the antivirus people deliberately disabling their own software from working.

anti-virus, firewall?

Knew I forgot to mention something. No, No antivirus or Firewalls active or even installed really. even double checked with windows security.

Ive also deleted the first installer and redownloaded in case it was a corruption.

Edit: Also in case it matters I am running on Windows 8.1, though I do know of at least a couple people that haven't had my issue. All my other games, and updaters are running as they normally do.

Here is an older version of the red alert installer, maybe the problem got something to do with the updates last week:

http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/files/temp/RedAlert1_Online_Installer.exe

Alright, at first that didnt work via "Network Failed" but I tried again, and it downloaded, and is currently installing. But I noticed that it says "Red Alert 1" This is going to sound incredibly ignorant, but does that mean that Ill only be able to play ra1 or is this a work around to get cncnet on the computer?

Thank you so much for the help again.

This was just a test, I will revert the changes from the last update (those were just some visual changes anyways) and afterwards you can go to www.cncnet.org and downloads everything you want.

I will post here again once i'm done in around 30minutes

Ok, all downloads were updated :)

You will notice that our mini multiplayer downloads have a lot extra features (High resolution patch, Game Launcher, Config Programs, Map Editors etc...), you can also have these features in your origin full game installation, the needed patches can be found here:

Just as an update: The Launcher for at least Yuri's has indeed downloaded correctly to my machine. I will test to see if I can actually play games later and seek fixes to any future issues in the forums. Thank you again so much for the active help.
