I am waiting for Yuri's revenge to arrive. In meantime was hoping to play red alert 2. I assume i cant play online without both?

I forgot my disk but have it installed. Apparently you can run without the disk using change directory in cmd. 

 

"Game has a defualt logic already to allow you to specify a location for the external/CDROM media.

 

-CDpath:to/c.d //Specifies the location of the CD-ROM data from which to run the game. Should contain the all the data from the CDs including the .dsk files.

 

If you put "-CD." then it will use the games folder."

 

I am ignorant. Can someone help me? I assume this is legal - let me know if not.

I'm not too clued up on the CD part of the question, but if you have the game installed you should be able to play online.  Have you tried using our installer yet and launching skirmish/online games from the CnCNet client? http://cncnet.org/yuris-revenge

Ah, then yes you will need Yuri's Revenge installed to play the RA2 mode & Yuri's Revenge online CnCNet. There is an alternative server to play "RA2" while you wait for your disk though - http://xwis.net

You can download a multiplayer version (doesn't have campaign) of yr legally from xwis.net/d.
