  1. Yeah, thats the goal of the game. To get an advantage against your opponent. But i guess if you face a player with nearly equal skill, its not so easy to rape his economy, because he will react on that and defend it or somethin.g At the end, mistakes and/or better moves of one player leads to a winner. As you said, its basically RTS. But sometimes the key is to bring your tanks in a better situation as your opponent tanks. - But i guess this is far beyond that what the topic starter want to learn. I mean, it needs a little bit of experience to face bfs in a group of tanks (especially to use desolators in a other way than in ra2). If you go no brain all-in you will lose immediatly your tanks vs a allied army. In the end a RTS game is like a other sports: training.
  2. In my opinion the problem with bf's is a way different for Soviet players than in some theoretical situations. The bf's are mostly in a group of mirage and griz tanks. The biggest problem is that bfs are a hardcounter against desolators and therefore they take out one of the most powerful units against sovs in map control and other situations. I mean, if you are in a situation with sovs agains allied that you a confronted with a army of grizs and mirages and bfs u did something wrong in the early-mid game (to less pressure). But if you are insuch a situation i would try to use the speed of rhino tanks do split the bfs out of the army and also try to hit and run or to bring desolators in a good position away from the bfs (depends on map). But its very hard against a allied in the late game. If you have SW ON, the situation is a little bit better for sovs in the late game and a little bit different as with no SWs. But ask marko for the best tips, he is a beast in all situations. But i guess also for a advanced sov player it is hard against allied in the late game without SWs. I guess you made a early mistake in the game to end in such a situation.
  3. Wow, what should i say... -sandoo here I was not very active in the last year.I feel ashamed that i missed this SHIT. Let me find some words... Im playing now yuris revenge since 2002, i was in several communities active... especially in the german community until 2007. After that i breaked with yuri because of personal career. I came back in 2014 on XWIS and changed to cncnet. I remember people like chandler and ZigZag... We had nice games... he and also chandler are people who are grown up with this game. We had fun. We had awesome games. We talked serious... we made jokes 1 Month and a Half ago i promised him to come back when im not so stressed anymore... and now? and now? People like him and chandler are the reason why i played the game again. Really, im not the typical gamer, i only played this game online. But with such people you have fun away from daily business... He was a man which I would like to met in reality, drink some beer and have a nice day, apart of this cool old game. Im running out of words... Typically, i have a certain distance to online gamers in case of my business life, but this disaster hurt me. I feel so bad that i wasn't often online in the last year and didnt enjoyed more games with this awesome person... Really, this is so bad and really unfair. After this week i have holidays and i wanted to start playing again on cncnet... playing games with this cool guy and talk some funny things... Honestly, this sad message changes my desire for this game... Jason, im sorry that i had never the chance to drink some beer with you, apart of yuris revenge... R.I.P sandoo
  4. In my opinion, there are different "best players" in different eras of this game. In the WOL time there was a lot of good players. After that Tomislav constantly dominated the ladder. Then Marko came up and some other. Also you have to recognize the improvement in the skill level on the top -> a good demonstration for this was the hard comeback of tomi. He came back and developed again to a top player, but didn't reached no1 again i guess (XWIS). On the other hand, you have to recognize the skill level. I guess, the top 10 skilled players nowaydays could easily win the ladder back in 2007. Because the skill-peak moved very slowly but constantly forward. Suprisingly was moon3, who shifted this extremy high peak (Marko, Latof, Matt, Marsh etc.) again forward to a new level. He demonstrated this by dominating the TOP-XWIS player in the past years. This was very impressiv in my long career, even though i was usually a yuri-player and rarely on ra2. Also the difference between ra2 and yr should be recognized related to the top-skilled players, even though the difference is not big. Finally, i would say... we had different eras of skill-peaks and different eras of astonishing players. For my personal decession, Tomi was owning the scene where the attention to this game was not at the bottom and the competition was relatively high. Also the extend of his domination was astonishing, even though i hate his very childish personality. On the other hand, the overall-skill of Marko and some others players demonstrated that the game, respectively the skill level is not frozen. At the end: The best Player over the last 17 years was clearly ZigZag - Noone moves tanks more sexy than him. Maybe he would probably train me again when i have some time for yr on cncnet (sandoo)

  6. Hi, since today i get always an error when im starting the client: if i start the client, the error "CNCMaps doesn't work anymore" appears, but if i close it, the client works nevertheless. - But after that the error appears again (5 seconds intervall) - so it looks like a never ending loop? Do you know how to solve this? - See screen below:
  7. great work, maybe you could also implement a clan creating system with a similar process - but no stress, youre doing well )
