  1. I'm having the same issue. I had to go to the github and recompile a 8.10.2 installer. The did something with framework. There is no reason to stop using ms framework v 4.5 cuse its a 21 year old game.

    Update 8.11.0

So After the update from 8.10.2 to 8.11.0 the client instantly crashes on my machine. All other updates have been working fine. No Os/system/drive updates have been installed. Nothing changed except the update. I cant Upload the crash logs because they never get created. Im running windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Build 7600 However the crash is logged in event viewer. Application: clientxna.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The process was terminated due to an unhanded exception. Exception Info: System.IO.FileNotFoundException Stack: at DTAClient.Program.Main(System.String[]) any help wold be appreciated
  3. Its exatly why. My client was taking a while to load and i loaded up Microsoft's sysinternals Process Monitor and saw the client was reading every single map file. Ones the music starts playing that stops.
  4. reconnection error means the games clients are out of sync. Cheating can cause this also. One players came is doing things others dotn do and it throws them out of snyc. When i played on the orig servers some maps would cause a reconnection error when a player with gap generators lost power or the gap gen was destroyed. On those maps it was due to glitched terrain , like hills that are not properly made as well as misplaced nuke reactors. I used to fix them all the time. On cncnet there is that redzones map that recones if the player at spot one makes gap in the top left corner and loses power. I looked at the map and cant see any irregular terrain. SO, I'm not 100% sure what causes it on that map. The sync.txt files are status dumps pf all the units and players in the game at the time it went out of sync. The game makes these, not the cncnet client.
  5. I had the same problem on a windows 7 machine. I have the disc version of yuri installed and I installed the client. It would launch but not actually open but show up in task manager. I then installed it on a second laptop that has windows 7 ult sp1 and it actually worked and it told me to install Microsoft XNA framework. It never asked me that on the first machine. I then copied the entire ra2 folder to the other machine and it ran after i installed xna framework. So if you still have an issue try installing XNA framework from MS and see if that gets it to run. If you can get it running on a second machine try to copy the entire ra2 folder to the machine that is not working and it might work as it did for me. Honestly i don't know why a client needs such modern features to run a 20 year old game. The fact that you need all the frameworks is really discouraging if you want to run a 20 year old game on windows xp where it runs the best. If you run the client on a dual core machine it uses >40% of the cpu. And that's just the CNCnet client, not even the actual game.
