Vista needs Service Pack 2 and Platform Update for DirectX11, which the client depends on.

To help, you can look at your DirectX if you click start > Run > dxdiag

 

From there you see a window that say "DirectX version" which should be 11.

DX11 is included with the "Platform Update" for Vista. Try looking for that?
