Question

Sorry. I don't know how to explain. Please consider me as a noob who doesn't know how these things work. Like how the files runs command to force the game into certain settings.

Please see attached images below. I took screenshots step by step as I launch together with my settings options.

Game from Origin, First Decade, individual installation (Without installing all the others in First Decade). Literally standalone from Origin menu.

P.S. I patched using the patcher. Assuming I didn't patch it wrongly.

1. Directory auto detected.

2. Run patch through "Help!"

3. Selected options. Uncheck everything except option 3. (Patch existing)

There were a few reports recently from origin users, not sure yet why it happens though.

Can you please go into your game folder and look for the file "ra95.exe":

Right click -> Properties -> compatibility: Disable everything in there and try to start the game again

Is this correct?

I have applied changes to all users and re-launched.

Nothing changed.

Edit:

I saw a RA95_mod launcher. Tried running it. Game runs in HD and windowed without window borders.

Also. tried running skirmish using the RA95_launcher. Opened CnCnet. Launched from there a skirmish. Game runs in fullscreen HD as well.

So I am probably only having problems with "Offline" Campaign.

You need to disable it all, not enable :D

Edit:

I updated RA1installer with a workaround, if you can't get it working then just re-download and apply the patch again.

Oops. I unchecked everything on compatibility.

Works smooth like butter now.

Much thanks!! For your great work man. Everything. And to everyone who made this possible.

:D :D :D

5/7 would recommend and share.

Wow, that looks like RA1 in 16 colour! Fabulous :D

[edit]

I just tried 256 colour mode with C&C95 on my Win7, and although the game worked fine as long as I I didn't run it windowed, my desktop didn't switch back to normal colour afterwards, lol.

I tried running C&C3 to switch it to high colour, and somehow Windows managed to switch to high colour for the game and back to 256 colour when I exited it.

Sadly couldn't take screenshots - they all turned out black

Well. Slowly revisiting all these games when I played as a kid. Reminiscing fond memories of the game helps in tough times.

About done with RA1 already!
