I would like to improve the ai on this map, but i am new to ra-ed so it will take some time before i figure it all out.

I thought you could only have 6 players in RA? Also, how would a 3x3x1 map support 8 players? Would the last one share a spot with the 1? Other than that, I like the idea of having three separate teams.

Well, the official terrain editor has 8 flags in total (one for each colour) for setting starting positions. It is also possible to select up to 7 ai players in skirmish.

 

What kind of team positions would you prefer?

RA1 supports up to 8 players in LAN. As for online, it has a maximum of 2 players in pre-v3 online mode, and a maximum of 4 in 3.03 online mode. Though imo it can't be hard to hack that to 8 somehow.
