CnCNet RA2YR Failing to recognize custom maps
Grant replied to capablekingsman's question in Support
While its good to have a definitive answer on file location, this does not solve my dilemma. App still fails to recognize new maps placed in Maps\Custom\ that are saved as .map Hello - check the different game modes, most people trip up on this part. Where the map preview is in your game lobby, change the game mode, you might find your custom maps under a different one. Rampastring - the YR edition, .yrm and .map are also searched for and converted to .map -
Hello, Make sure you have no firewall or router settings blocking the gamemd-spawn.exe. IF you don't, what is your country? We've had reports of people from Egypt having a similar problem for example.

Hello - sorry to hear this. Quick things to check is that you have .NET framework 4 installed. If that doesn't help, we'll need your client.log file to investigate. https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=7243.0

Closed. Ferret to action.

Try alternating the Renderer option - https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=4415.msg36349#msg36349 Either that or try using windowed mode (also in Client Options)

Hello, Please also see below. Is the entire Command & Conquer series free to download? Not all of them are. The only games that are officially freeware are: C&C Tiberian Dawn (2007) - Source C&C Red Alert (2008) - Source C&C Tiberian Sun (2010) - Source So, how does CnCNet support the games that aren't freeware? CnCNet provides a ready to go installer for Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, and Tiberian Sun. The games have been updated to work with the latest operating systems and builds in order for you to get on your way to playing online. For the games that aren't freeware, CnCNet provides installers which only include the CnCNet developed components required for you to play online. They're designed to look for your game directory and extract the components necessary for multiplayer, as well as applying compatibility fixes in order for you to play with modern day systems. In order for you to play games such as Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge, you will need to already own a copy of the game for it to work. Is CnCNet linked to EA Games? CnCNet is not linked to EA, and has no official affiliation with Electronic Arts. Is CnCNet free? CnCNet is completely free to use, and open source as well. CnCNet is financed by donations kindly contributed by the community. C&C Ultimate Collection - does it work with CnCNet? Yes - the C&C Ultimate Collection works with CnCNet. The CnCNet installers will automatically find your game installation, whether it's the C&C Ultimate Collection, The First Decade, or an old CD install you have. The C&C Ultimate Collection is available to purchase on EA Origin's store. If it's too expensive, you could go through a third party like CD-Keys and purchase a download code to redeem on Origin - https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/command-and-conquer/command-and-conquer-the-ultimate-collection/ultimate-collection

Hello, What would you deem as normal? 1. Try a different renderer: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=4415.msg36349#msg36349 2. Save 3. Load a skirmish game, see if you notice any improvement from appears normal in skirmish. 4. Retry the steps with a different renderer until you notice an increase in speed.
-
Hello - please see here: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=7549.0

What are you trying to play, LAN, Skirmish, Online? Could you upload the following files from your game directory: spawner.xdp spawn.ini spawnmap.ini
-
Hello - in your client options, select a renderer, try a skirmish game until you don't get any freezing gameplay. https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=4415.msg36349#msg36349
-
Hello - check your antivirus is not blocking the downloaded update.
-
Edit for clarity: AFAIK the YR* client right now does not support loading skirmish games, you would have to do that via native in game menus.
-
Also check your maps are not under a different game mode. Just above the map preview box is a dropdown where you can change the game type.

Hello, Sorry to see this. Could you upload your client.log file. Instructions on how to find it are here: https://forums.cncnet.org/index.php?topic=7243.0

I guess I should put this into a branch on GitHub? It's not YR specific.

New video Shows success/error handling for logging into your account, creating usernames that already exist. Also added but not shown is error handling for if the API server is offline. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3_g9c9BBpQzeHF5V3JvVUgxUFU/view?usp=sharing Thanks to dkeeton, added password stars. Next todo: Creating new accounts from scratch Creating a custom UI element for swapping out plain text as *******'s in password fields Logging into your account and seeing a verified badge/icon next to your username Thanks - yeah a clan creation would go through a similar process I would imagine.

Hello, It's available digitally on the EA Origin store. The item to purchase is called the C&C Ultimate Collection. It contains all 17 C&C Games. Link to EA Origin Store is here: https://www.origin.com/gbr/en-us/store/command-and-conquer/command-and-conquer-the-ultimate-collection/ultimate-collection It's currently quite expensive, usually they have deals on where it's a lot cheaper. So what you could actually do is purchase a digital code for EA Origin C&C Ultimate Collection via a third party like cdkeys, and redeem it that way. http://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/command-and-conquer-the-ultimate-edition-pc

Can we get an updated situation on progress of YR Ladder?
Grant replied to XXxPrePxX's topic in CnCNet Ladder
The theory being more of the team would contribute towards the API if it was in PHP. So far, technically the endpoints are there that existed in the node version, aside from stats parsing and clans. It's using Sean3z's WOL database structure with a few tweaks. https://github.com/CnCNet/cncnet-ladder-api/blob/master/readme.md We also have access tokens for clients now which wasn't a thing before. Finally it's easier for me, as I'm more used to PHP & Laravel than node, and on a personal note I really dislike node.
