  1. yes lol, they put the videos from the original cds on there too .. i think some of them are used during the expansion missions, some not they probably just wanted to fill the cds, making a 60mb sized cd doesn't look so nice
  2. You have to start it as admin (right click -> run as administrator) .. then click the "settings" button fast, now change "Executable" at the bottom to "ra95.exe" lol .. you are right, i also complained about these weird questions .. they were added to stop bots from registering at the forums, but in reality it is stopping humans from registering at the forums cause they don't know the answer
  3. you could play at 640x480 game resolution or try this: Set game resolution to the half of your native resolution (640x512) Set ddraw stretching to your native resolution (1280x1024) this will look nice and smooth, if the game runs too slow with stretching then try to switch the renderer to opengl ... window mode + 1280x800 stretching is also a good solution if you want to play at the original ratio 16:10 (640x400)
  4. If you really don't want to download some files (i have a package with all these missing files) then there is only one way to get those.. you have to use XCC-Mixer and open the main.mix files located on the CDs and extract everything you want to your game folder. The missing files are: 2nd_hand.aud, araziod.aud, await.aud, backstab.aud, bog.aud, chaos2.aud, float_v2.aud, gloom.aud, grndwire.aud, rpt.aud, search.aud, shut_it.aud, traction.aud, twinmix1.aud, under3.aud, vr2.aud, wastelnd.aud, antend.vqa, antintro.vqa, snowbase.vqa If you change your mind, here is the package with all these files + 8 retaliation soundtracks: http://www.mediafire.com/download/1sb1eohtm2ov0qv/reta-exp-music.zip The addon missions (PC version) don't have videos The playstation1 version (retaliation) had some videos, Nyerguds ported them to PC and you can download them here if you want (The lost files): http://www.mediafire.com/?de2h42t27olqec4
  5. i think you just need to set cncnet.exe to run the arda launcher
  6. rans mod wont support that arda mods, but im sure you can make it working with both patches anyways put all into one mix of course. Later when there will be a newer ra version you will be able to update easily (just copy your mod .mix over)
  7. why you want to know the real file names ? just copy them over into a new mix with the weird names
  8. dunno whats the problem, but you could just try to change em in the config to make em working
  9. are the filenames a problem at all ? just copy all that crap into one mix !
  10. nice
  11. its easy, just go through all mix files and copy all files that aren't original into some folder .. once you got all the modded files create a new mix file and put all files into these one mix .. with the original ra (3.03 and 2.00) you could name it to wolapi.mix for example .. for irans ra that doesn't work anymore, he would need to add a new mix file name that will be used for the mod launcher you could make it like this mod-Armageddon.mix mod-Project_Revolution.mix mod-Bad_Ra.mix etc.. You would just select a mod in the launcher and right before it starts the game it copies the chosen mix and changes its file name to enable it. Iran could also add some new key to redalert.ini to enable it If you really want to do this let me know, it wouldn't be hard to add such an option to the launcher or the config
  12. I just edited the first post, i hope it's clear now
  13. i had the idea to put all mod files into one single .mix, this way it would be portable and could be used on any ra, also told allen and white to make their mod like this, but you know how modders are .. they wanna derp around with any single file You could then switch the mods via the config tool
  14. did you try what the tutorial said? configure "Emulate a virtual desktop" 1280x800 open ddraw.ini in your redalert folder and configure it to use width=1280, height=800, maxfps=120, renderer=opengl
  15. did you follow this tutorial ? http://funkyfr3sh.cncnet.org/playonmac_playonlinux/ you have to add ddraw and wsock32 to the override list in the wine settings start the game via cncnet.exe (not ra95.exe) then go to multiplayer/LAN to play online ... do not try to click on the internet button, it doesn't work you can enable/disable window mode in ddraw.ini which is located in your red alert folder
  16. there is also a cnc95 forum (codename: Tiberian Dawn) http://cnc-comm.com/community/index.php?board=93.0
  17. I attached the needed file, it contains all map names Just add/remove the ones u want and if possible add some screenshots too td-maps.zip
  18. MattAttack is creating the map pack, i didn't modify it. You can talk to MattAttack and he adds your maps and maybe also removes bad ones or you can also create your own map pack and give it to me cncnet5 doesn't have any limit for maps anymore, the file name can be anything like abcdefghijklm.ini
  19. yes it says "force aftermath online with fast build speed" but it works in skirmish too
  20. It should work in skirmish too, just go to the config and enable aftermath with fast build speed But watch out, if you try to play online while it's enabled then only people with the same setting can join your game (game versions or rules.ini incompatible)
  21. np, just stop by if you got any other questions
  22. Mission names: It's not so easy to make it working sadly, you would need to create a custom mix file and mess around with the game data I didn't translate those cause currently there is no good way to do it, maybe some game patch will change that in the future Videos: Aftermath and Counterstrike dont have any videos, that's why i didn't added an option to install them. The ant missions got a small intro video, but it doesn't have any speech
  23. The thread tore linked comes with high res wide screen backgrounds that should fill the screen without black bars. But still, you can only use supported resolutions, the smallest popular wide screen res is 1280x720. Check your graphic driver settings to get a list of all valid resolutions and then enter them as custom resolution in the config. you can use 1024 x 576, but then you would need to enable stretching/scaling to get any valid resolution and that will look pretty weird and the game might run slower
  24. hi, there is no need to install the aftermath/counterstrike since they only got a few mb of useful data. You can still play aftermath/counterstrike, the 3.03 patch which is included contains all the new units etc If you want to do an old-school installation then choose Mini CD-Installation, it will force you to switch between all 4 cds like back in the days Offline installer including all game files without the need to insert the cds would be too complicated since the game came out in 3 different languages and i would need to create 3 huge packages for the videos (english/german/french). But if you got the CDs it is possible to use the installer offline too, CD-Install and patch function will work offline (it will tell you that it couldn't download additional files but it allows you to continue) You can also use the old 2.10 version, it was made for offline cd-installs and contains all the language packs http://www.mediafire.com/?hg5b930751v60ab
  25. that is because the map is smaller than your resolution, it will only happen in the first mission cause those are very small
