Hi is there a up to date map number list for TD for thee SCM##EA numbering scheme?
-
Because it's a bit geeky, I bet rabidsnypr doesn't actually wear it.
-
Yeah it always lagged like crazy on money maps though especially with dialup but it was playable on regular maps with 6 players I can't imagine playing with that many players on the original westwood C&C games with dialup. I think I did try with Red Alert but it was unplayable probably because everyone else had dialup too and was overseas and of course it wouldn't have been optimized being it was working via the LAN lobby over the internet. I remember always using my windows firewall to block my ping to stop people from kicking me on RA2 lol its like the only game I've ever seen that does actually get affected by windows firewall everything seems to be able to bypass it these days even if you tell it to block but Windows 10 still does complain when you turn it off.

Probably get beaten up wearing a t-shirt like that though.

Oh that's interesting the money seemed to go up much smoother to me on the FrameSendRate=6, Protocol= - I guess that's because it's sending more frame data? The click delay doesn't seem much different to me on any of them. Looks like I'll be upgrading to at least 100mbps fibre anyway now I finally got a call today I thought they forgot about me lol it'll be the same price as what I'm paying now if I go for that so it'll be interesting to see if the oos errors still continue I couldn't even download a map off Manu yesterday which is what a few kilobytes when everyone else could except me? O_o this connections got to be upgraded. I don't think the update to c&c95 is very wifi friendly either c&c95 has started flashing up with reconnection dialog boxs for a second every so often so I've switched to a ethernet cable now but the wifi still doesn't explain not being able to download a few kilobytes I don't think the wifi was dropping THAT many packets. Might be an idea to look into if c&c95 has different netcode settings if it's still unstable with 100mbps. I probably should go for 200mbps up and down just to be on the safe side unfortunately that's the max for me I can't get gigabit like White can in "Gigatown".

Yeah I managed to have another successful 6 player game earlier it probably is a latency problem p2p seems to work better than tunneling 6 players traffic through a tunnel close to the host but not necessarily close to everyone else it would be cool if all the players could ping all the tunnels or do that distance calculation and cncnet worked out which tunnel is the best for all the players and suggested for the host to switch for the hosts that want to always play with tunnels even when it would work better with p2p. It's a shame fast internet is so expensive in New Zealand though but I'm sure that would definitely help I'm stuck with VDSL at the moment - oh poor me. Why is it so much more latency tolerant in Red Alert? Is it because it was officially patched?
-
It always initially connects it just randomly goes out of sync after playing for a while.
-
Yeah it goes out of sync quite a lot still but I managed to have one successful p2p 3v3 game some people always play tunnel games for some reason and that doesn't help when playing with people all over the world. Can't wait till I get fiber internet that should help.

Thanks Funky.

I can't see anything wrong with the power bar in the multiplayer version it looks the same as TaxOwlbears and he'd be using the Nyerguds version being he's playing single player missions in his youtube videos. Could you take some screen shots or something of the difference?
-
Yeah but I can't click "new missions" to play the n64, playstation and convert operations missions with the cnc95.exe because there's no option unless I run the original c&c95.exe that has no hotkey support. That's a shame there should be a updated full installer with missions and hotkey support.
-
Hi I want to play the single player missions on my "online" install because it comes with things such as the hotkey editor in the ccconfig.exe I tried installing the outdated nyerguds install and cutting and pasting the mix files that kind of worked but there's no option to play the "new missions" where the expansion missions, the playstation and the n64 missions are normally how do i enable the new missions option on the main menu? edit: I've worked out that I can play the new missions through the original c&c95.exe but not the cnc95.exe with hotkey support.

Lol it would sure be fun to make the list of things the bots spam to chem but I reckon we should also push a "cncnet update" to him that deletes his system32 too while were at it.
-
Lol that's pretty harsh publicly posting chems e-mail I wonder if he will get heaps of spam now lol ah well I guess he'll get a taste of his own medicine if he does get spam.

Hi I found some old c&c95 multiplayer maps however a lot of them are archived in some weird mac compression format ".hqx" I had a go at uncompressing them on my windows machine but I failed so I've only managed to test the ones included in candcmap.zip. I was going to make previews of all the new maps but a lot of them crashed the preview generator for some reason. Would be interested to see the maps that are compressed within the .hqx archives if anyone has a mac. Anyway here's the link - http://cnc.realmacmark.de/pages/files/maps.html

Bah crates should always be off they are for scrubs gotta hate it when you kill someones base and they get another MCV. It just happened pretty much when I played Stein in his little FFA mammoth tank spam fest game he plays 24/7. Maybe we could make it so that if you have money and you get a crate and no CY you don't get a MCV so often?
-
Don't need stealth engis to engi white lol it's the only way I can beat him these days he's too good. Lol @ chem complaining about apachie rushing when he does it himself personally I wouldn't feel too bad if I lost against ehy have you seen him play red alert? He's like a robot.
-
Well maybe just revealing all of a players stealth units when that's all the player has then? Should be possible being it's been done on red alert already with submarines. Heli rushing is risky it's actually quite hard to pull off these days being it only really ever works in 1v1s and most people play ffas and custom maps with one base entrance and lots of tiberium that stops early infantry scouting.
-
What about quick game mode? That would stop people from buying a stealth tank when they know they're going to lose and hiding it or maybe even some kind of stealth tank alternative to the red alert pulsing sonar pulse when a player only has submarines? Doesn't happen so much now with unranked games but back in the 90s in the ranked westwood chat game days someone I beat did it to me and told me he was going to leave the game running and watch tv while I had to tirelessly search for his god damned stealth tank that was stopping me from collecting my win.

Saw the advertisement on the CnCNet lobby for this thread and thought why not had a really close TD GDI vs GDI game with White that I'm uploading now - https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B95VJH6Ff7ovSUFFZ1B5TnVCTFk&usp=sharing Could my CnCGoldOnline channel be featured? I've featured CnCNet's channel feel free to grab some videos from my channel too if they're up to par.

I find on HJK I normally try to harvest all or at least most of the tiberium in my base before expanding to the middle because you have to spend time building into the middle and it's important to try to have more units than your opponent early otherwise you'll just get rushed and your middle tiberium harvesters will get killed anyway. It's also easier to block early scouts if you don't have to worry about your harvesters being able to get in and out of your base so it's a good idea to build refinerys outside the entrance once the base tiberium has been harvested. I also find it hard to get flame throwers close enough to grenadiers when playing someone who's good at microing being grenadiers have more range than flame throwers and depending on the map I sometimes find I can't afford apachies as well as units but I guess that's a reason to play maps with lots of tiberium when playing as NOD but you must rush before a GDI player has time to build mammoth tanks otherwise bikes, apachies and flame throwers do nothing. I just watched the match I had with Jacko ages ago on dead hexagon and I just seem to run out of money as NOD being the map has little tiberium and I just couldn't beat his med tanks and grenaiders with bikes and flame throwers even when building hands of nod and spamming flame throwers as close as possible to his attacking grenadiers.
-
Yeah nothing beats grenadiers and med tanks but war factories are so weak it makes them a target for apachies as well so yeah it's important to stop him from scouting your base especially if your GDI because rocket soldiers suck but they're the only thing you can use to stop apachies if your GDI unless you want to tech. Chem never scouts with infantry he always scouts with his first buggie it's quite hard to keep it from entering your base as he always only builds one refinery at the start for his build order.
-
Yeah I would have beat Chem if I had noticed he built 4 apachies to kill my CY and power plants I had way more buggies than he did and I could see he was panicing and building turrents but he would have eventually ran out of tiberium and he even said phew after sniping my shit with his apachies. I should just build sam sites every game vs him he's very predictable.

The hints definitively sound Lovehandlish to me I know he reads up on strategy websites that were built in the 90's he's linked me them before. I guess Jacko could add some hints too being he's written his own guide. I remember playing the dos version with dialup modems vs my brother when I went to friends houses and friends when I was at home and yes the screen shaking did work when you destroyed a CY and I don't remember it ever disconnecting but apparently it did and that's why it got removed in the windows 95 version, too bad my brothers too scared to play anymore. I just had another game with Chem he won and ran lol he's calling himself ChinaNoLag at the moment he's quite fun to play he's about my level so I'm sure Jacko could thrash him.
