No... I'd like to think of an event loop as something that waits for an event to happen and then dispatches everything necessary to the appropriate place to handle the event while waiting for the next event to happen. Think of the girls that operate the phone in your local police station as being an event loop and the police guys as the so called event handlers. For example, there's an event loop in the hack I've made. It waits for the reveal/reshroud/radar hotkey to be pressed and then goes on about it's job actually performing the requested action. And perhaps it's much more complex than that but that's the idea. And... no. I don't get why anyone would want to cheat in an online game. Doesn't it completely take away the fun for you? :O For me it does.

Hello fellow RA2 players, I'm still baffled as to why I have been banned from RA2. According to this post: http://xwis.net/forums/index.php/topic/167750-athina-dc-and-got-ptscheaterperm-ban/?p=1438485 So if the ban is nothing to do with the events in the game, why in the world would you ban me? I've never used a map revealer or other trainer in any game I've ever played on XWiS. I honestly don't know what the Admin is implying that I had been "up to". So whom should I be contacting at EA to clear up this issue?

I'd actually prefer someone else who knows me, to answer that question for me. I think I can pass for both, though, I am not a specialist in either but rather a generalist. I just want to say that my intention is to never hurt anybody through anything that I do. From what I have seen throughout the years, hacking skills are very frowned upon in this community, yet they are very common, since almost every 2nd or 3rd member has some sort degree or at the very least extensive background in computer science. This goes especially if you're a player that's capable of getting rank #1 in RA2, in which case the smallest slip-up showing that you have used a relay, will get you permanently banned in an instant - you don't even have to be cheating in any kind or way. I have never used my hacking skills to gain an unfair advantage in a game over my opponent, even though I could have, but that would have taken the fun away for me.

Haha, thanks for the welcome, Grant! Well, I've worked for a small web company that has its own CMS and offers services to small and middle sized businesses. So maintaining and extending the CMS, a lot custom extensions and web applications (product finders, calculators, forms). It was mainly PHP and while I'm good in it and like it for its ease of use, I dislike it at the same time for the insane amount of poor code you'll see written in PHP! I consider CSS and SQL my specialities and I also enjoy them the most, oh, and I'm excellent in jQuery too! I guess I'm here because I have a lot of time on my hands again (can be good or bad) though not unlimited, since I'm starting school again. I'm not here to get you I have nothing against CnCNet and think it's a cool project. Haven't played yet. Remember, I'm not a YR player but I'd like to play RA2 sometime again and perhaps get another rank #1!

I've worked as a web developer for the past 3 years. My specialities are C++, CSS and SQL. Weird combination, I know! Some random facts about me: I liked to play with Korea or Iraq. I have several XWiS RA2 Player rank #1s. I played RA2 until the 6th January 2011, that's when I was permanently banned from XWiS. I was permanently banned from XWiS not because of cheating but because I had sent a single fake game result after losing to a player that had disconnected/washed me several times in the past. I have then retaliated by developing and releasing the single most powerful hack for RA2 & YR, prompting Olaf to create the Auto SS patch. Surprise: I'm also a skilled reverse engineer. I have a strong preference for Valium (Diazepam) over any other Benzodiazepine. I really like bands with female singers.
