  2. Oh one more thing, always use hotkeys Q W E R to alternate through tabs and place buildings faster. D for deploy, S to stop units, H to return to base, spacebar for beacon, etc etc. Oh and remember where your wireless button is on your keyboard so you can DC when you lose.
  3. Tank battles you need fodder, dogs conscripts. Lure tanks to base place pillboxes or sentry as fodder. Dont command tanks to shoot. Let them run past on their own. They're more efficient at shooting on their own. Only time i recommend clicking to shoot is if you see one of the enemy tanks with low health bar on the edge of his grouped tanks. Click, kill, run. There's a lot more to good TC but for the most part you'll just need to practice to get good at this. As for bfs, defense structures like pillbox and sentry or fodder like rockies or send spy plane above and then rush in and attack. It's very tricky though and requires some skill. If you're allied a good amount of prism tanks will take out a bf but if you're playing toe then i'd imagine his allies or him would have massed equal amounts of prism aswell. TOE is a lot different then regular competitive games. Play normal FFG to work on your skill. Also, here is a basic Soviet Build-order that should work on most maps. Power Plant, Barracks (+ 2 dogs), Ore-ref, Warfactory (+ 1 miner then Rhinos), Ore-ref (build closer to gems or ore then sell first ore ref), Ore-ref (Sell another one of your ore refineries). Once you got 4 miners then make radar, then either tech up (battle lab, nuke reactor, industro plant) or build multiple Warfactories for tanks to build faster. This all depends on what map and player you're versus. Again Depending on map or players you're versus and who you're allied with and what you feel you might be able to pull, you can also skip miner from warfactory and go straight tanks. Try different strategies like selling MCV with 3 or 2 miners. Work on Economy. For instance, never let your cash flow go to zero. Watch miners and if you feel you're fixing to go broke (usually when your cash drops below 800 or 700) send the miner with most cash early to ore refinery. Work on good build-orders first then worry about micro and tank control. You need to learn the maps. There's a ton more stuff also and i'm only an average player but I can help with what I know.

  5. From my understanding, when the ladders and ranking system drop on cncnetYR people will need to register with their nicks with a personal password. Will the client remain simple and easy for newcomers by allowing them to create their game account through the client or will everyone need to flock back over to the cncnet.org website? It might not seem like that big of an issue but I forecast the latter scenario as a deterrent to the newcomers. Remember Xwis' primary failure for YR was the unnecessary loops and complications newcomers would have to go through to register and play online, not counting random server, lag, connection issues. On a final note, here is hoping to a continuing spike in activity. Origin is still giving out YR copies for free, and if you google "yuris revenge online" the first sites that pop up are cncnet.org, so yay.
  6. 1.) Will player badges be available, and will they be shown in the CnCNet lobby? 2.) Will rank and points be shown next to player names in the CnCNet lobby? 3.) Will there be a clan system implemented with the upcoming ladders. If so, will official clan tags be shown next to player names in the CnCNet Lobby? 4.) Is there any chance for a quickmatch system or will ranked games always need to be hosted? Changing topics a bit here but will there ever be a wider selection of lobby commands? Some that would be useful would be player paging commands like /page and /r, checking who is online /on "xxxxx", and checking someones wins/loses rank pts /p "xxxxx". All these are xwis lobby commands. Can we please get them for CnCNet? Is there any work planned for lobby commands? Finally, only as a suggestion, allowing chatting between lobby and people ingame like in xwis where you receive lobby pages at the top of the screen would greatly enhance the CnCNet client.
  7. This will sometimes depend on the map. Try playing a different survival map and see if it works. I have a lot of maps in my directory that don't work well. You can also try having someone else host and see if it works.

  11. I can help with ffg maps like Evb and how you're supposed to move mcv to hill there. Played some Sedona sovwars w/ no air etc and a lot of people followed rules and enjoyed it. Other maps like facedown where you're supposed to move to middle and you get the picture. I'll throw around whatever tips I know. One major tip I have to give out is to hit TAB to ally. Instant noob give away when they don't know how to do that. I got a ton of survival maps I think i'll play and pass out sometime this week. Pretty much I can help with activity and training newbs.

  14. I have windows 8.1 on this computer and my games lag like hell. I know it's not my connection because when using my netbook the game plays at full fps. This computer has better specs too so it must be windows 8 related. I read on other posts about a file i can download and drop into my game directory which should allow me to adjust videobackbuffer and fix lag.
