If you know how to work with FS (FinalSun) map editor that comes with game you should consider adding changes in maps instead or editing rules.ini There's an easy way to add INI files in each map so I hope this will fix it and you guys can play. I think it's hardcoded by default from westwood even early days when we played on xwis servers.

Admins are actually gone from cncnet support team for now.. well they are here but there's no response, neither on Discord. This sayd there are going to be thous who go on Rampastrings client and many will stay on Funky's and many others will join Vinifera once it's ready for public release.. so if you have no trouble you can still buy original game CD for TS or just use all the clients and see what works for you.

Also yeah I think this is the client you wanna use also for multiplayer. !Important cncnet clients might be replaced or removed while providing new client. The specific time/date not determined yet. Nah he already has cncnet client and you don't need other one that has 2+ GB download so you just get extra movies and music that hasn't even adapted for higher resolution. Yet you could just drop the download link instead not being lazy haha.

Found this? It's an open source project being shared since Westwood made these games License free. 1. TIBSUN and SINGLEPLAYER is vanilla TS game including Campaign, music, in game movies which you remember back on days when playing TS on Wolapi or Xwis when they had latest patch 2.03. 1.1 TSCLIENT includes some new terrain, structures, units mostly from games like RA, RA2 etc and vise versa that are converted and used in cncnet. 2. There are some new hotkeys that are published in other Topics and also there is separate Client from cncnet on moddb where you can host your own mod, game, server for free not related in any way with cncnet (but you can see all the players on cncnet while using this Client in multiplayer).

Can I ask on what kind of "new content" you work on... such as - new features, - new units, - ladder, - ranking system perhaps?

If you wanna use the Client from cncnet.org would be cool, if not am sure you can find settings in your Original cracked TS game too. So what you wanna do is go to Settings > Tiberian Sun and change your Game Resolution regarding on what rendered you use is up to you, probably gonna need DDRAW for windows 10. Good luck mate! I think you talking about FinalSun map editor rather than file modification, it comes with the game files, just look it up in your game folder.
