Not yet, but hopefully in a future update. It's definitely something on my radar.

Is this still happening to you with the latest version? There was a rare bug in 8.9 that has since been resolved in version 8.10.0.

Can't join the #cncnet chat channel, I am banned

This was a false negative message and a bug. It has since been resolved in the 8.10.0 update. -
What happens exactly? Are you getting an error message? Typically, if the client crashes, you'll see a window pop up with an error message. That window also shows you the path to a log file for the crash information. If you have that, you can upload it here and I can try to figure out what's going on.

How to clear all maps available in RA2 Yr and show only select maps?
Devo1929 replied to RA2Mechanic's topic in RA2/YR Maps
I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean, but you can right-click any map and add it as a favorite. There's a Favorite Maps option at the top of the map list. -
Unfortunately, there is little to nothing that can be done for reconn errors in most cases. Often times, they are due to issues with the map itself, some sort of "sync" issues between player executables (due to lag or otherwise) or the game executable itself, something we have no real ability to change/fix.

Sam-I-am is correct. This was a false negative message. This has been resolved in 8.10.0 update.

This was a false negative message. No one was actually banned. This has since been resolved in the 8.10.0 update.

1) Auto Ally feature was actually JUST released with version 8.9. To access it, there's a little button in the top left corner of the area where players select their sides/teams/colors/etc... Click on that and you can set up auto allying EXACTLY as you described it 2) This would be doable in cases where the same exact name is used for two or more maps. I'll see what I can do about making it work and not be confusing.

Try to locate the RA2MD.ini file in the root of your installation path and open it with a text editor. Look for the settings of "ClientResolutionX" and "ClientResolutionY". Based on your log file, it looks like they are current set to 5120 and 1440, which is likely way too large for your client to handle. Change these values to something like 1920 and 1080. That should at least get the client to launch. You can then change them to something else that fits better AND is supported from within the client Options menu/area.

Fwiw, there was a bug with the "recent_list" file. That's been resolved and will be in the 8.10 update.

I agree with the request absolutey, but there's a technical reason that slightly prevents this that'll try to explain in layman's terms. The client application uses IRC as the backing chat system to send messages to each other. That includes the user/player list that appears in the main lobby. When users/players join the IRC channel/main lobby, they do so with a Nickname and a User Ident. The nickname is obviously able to be changed as often as they want, but the User Ident is typically always the same and is assigned by IRC. The problem is, when the lobby loads, it requests all users that are currently online and this request does NOT include the User Ident, only the Nicknames. There is a way to get additional information for all users that are logged in, but it replies with MUCH more data than just the User Ident that we would need to make this work. In fact it includes so much data that in the past, the client was having to deal with "IRC Flooding" errors where users were then being banned from IRC (not the client application itself...). As a result, the quick solution was the client application had to change to the basic "IRC get all online users" request to return only nicknames. I'm not saying it cannot be done. I'm just saying it's not as simple as it sounds.

Sorry, getting to this late, but this issue should be resolved in the 8.8.1 release

1. Each map file actually has an image file associated with it which is what's displayed in the preview. It might be possible to have a "preview" button next to the "download" button. In either case, you're going to have to download something. The point of the "preview" button with the "download" button would be to prevent your system from automatically downloading each preview every time a host is unable to make a decision... My suggestion for now is just wait until they've settled on something before you click the download button. 2. There actually is the ability to delete maps files from the Skirmish lobby. You can right-click on any maps in the list from that lobby and there is a Delete option. I'm not exactly sure why the option isn't also enabled in the Multiplayer lobby. Looking into it myself, it looks as though it was explicitly disabled. I'll try and look into it further, but for now the Skirmish lobby is your work around.
