The fastest speed value is 0, however... there must be some system against the obvious divide by zero that would happen there. Setting game speed to 0 runs at maximum possible CPU speed. The formula is just to provide a basic understanding of it, a more accurate description could be explained with a more complicated implement of course. On a side note, I was confused about the exact engine fps till I took in account the animation system, which runs at 11-16fps ontop of the normal game fps; which confused me for a while until i ran the game at 1000 gamespeed and saw it still drew frames.
