Please Give Advice: Final Alert Error: "file cannot be saved. Make sure the file is read only"

Howdy

Been experimenting a lot with Final Alert lately.
As of recently, this error started showing up (for any map, any type of map, even newly created maps without anything on them):

Final Alert Error: "file cannot be saved. Make sure the file is read only"

I tried reinstalling, repairing, removing entirely.
Basically tried everything you'd normally do to correct this.

 

Can anyone point me in the right direction? 
Can't seem to figure out what's causing it and a Google search wasn't helpful either.

 

Edit: I checked if the files are read only, but there's nothing there.
Just a while back.. everything worked fine. So I'm not sure what triggered it.

are you running it with administrator access?

Yes I  have to run mine as an Administrator otherwise its just black.
