Game crashes in Windows 8, what to (The Dawn of the Tiberium Age & Tiberian Sun)

Hello! I was so glad i found this site cos i love C&C games. I downloaded everything from here, but.. I cannot play them. Red alert is only one that is working. When i try to play TDA or TS, i can play correctly about 30seconds and then i get error "Main executable stopped working, windows must shut down etc.." So, how can i fix this? Many thanks!

are you sure its 30seconds ? the game saves a screenshot every 1min on the hdd, maybe it does crash if it fails to do that (lack of write permissions/anti-virus)

TDA? I guess you mean DTA. TS has issues on Windows 8 and since DTA is a standalone TS mod it has it's fair share of issues as well. If you downloaded TS from CnCNet.org that has a configuration tool you can mess around with, maybe some settings will work. DTA has it's own configuration tool as well.

 

If you're feeling adventurous you can try this beta TS version I've been working on: http://tore29.com/tsins/TSinstaller3-beta8r3.exe I haven't been able to test it much due to university and stuff, want some feedback.

I play my games in Windows 8 with no issues.
