Tiberian Dawn in a Window

Does anyone know if it's possible to play it in a window (as opposed to full screen)

 

I've tried all the obvious command line switches, but no joy

yeah, impossible.. and if it would run in window, all the stuff around it would look horribly ugly, because the game forces the entire system to use its 256-colour palette. I've seen it on the second monitor when my bro was running it on his dual monitor setup.. wasn't pretty

Yeah, I've got two monitors and I noticed that, but I was just wanting to use my IM windows since the steam and xfire overlays don't work with DirectDraw.

 

I figure running it in a VMWare instance would work well, but performance might be an issue.
