gibeach2000
Hi sorry if this in wrong place. I have just bought new PC running windows 8.1 & when I try to run Command & Conquer, in compatibility mode for XP pro service pack 3, I get the message - Unable to set Video mode Any suggestions Thanks
0 FunkyFr3sh
That means the chosen game resolution is not supported, you will have to change the game resolution to get past that error. You should also tell us which game you are trying to play the next time (or are you talking about the first command and conquer?)
0 Rampastring
In case you're trying to play Tiberian Sun (or Red Alert 2?), that error is thrown when the game is unable to change the display mode. Usually it means that your system doesn't support 16-bit color mode; in other words, usually it means that you're running Windows 8 or Windows 10. It's solved by using TS-DDRAW. 0 FunkyFr3sh
Getting it for all games is strange, you should get the patches tore linked. Make sure you have dpi scaling turned off (check if it is set to 100%/Default) http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/443-dpi-display-size-settings-change.html Virtual machines can cause such proiblems Windows 95/98 compat mode can limit the max resolution too
