Screen stretched too much under Windows 7@ CnC Gold | unplayable

Hi,

 

I have installed the game via the given installer version 1.06b, but when starting no matter how i start it, with compatibility mode enabled on Windows 98/ME, in 640x480 or  1024x768 resolution, in a virtual box with Windows XP on it... i always get these results:

not only in the menu, but also in game. Somehow saving these pictures to jpg has taken some of the colours out, but those are okay.

 

My system components are:

 

Windows 7

Intel Core 2 2,0 GHz

Nvidia 7900 go gs

3 gigs of ram

So, you installed it onto a Virtual PC?

I don't think XP mode supports games correctly.

 

Try straight up installing it in W7

My graphics driver is up to date.

Virtual Box is not Xp Mode: http://www.virtualbox.org/

I have already tried it on Windows 7 NOT in that virtual box, with and without compatibility mode. As that didnt work, i have tried to install it on Windows XP in the Virtual Box, but got the same result ;(

This is a DX issue, test directdraw on dxdiag

Start>Execute

Test DirectDraw

(do it on XP VM,)

 

it can be an incompatible application running too, what apps is running when you try to play c&c?
