humm i think i would go with a fresh install of the game

you dont need the file anyway unless you going to try to play lan thats the only reason the file was made try removing it from the ra folder copy and paste it somewhere else and try to run the game without it and see if it runs correctly like tore said it might be a corrupted file.

can you get a pic of it? i have the wsock32 file aswell and i do have vista and Ra runs fine. if you can get a pick of the error it will be helpful maybe someone can tell you what it is.

Well Ra95 is known for alot of bugs and this is one of them on newer OS what i suggest is this but its a shot. It might work it might not. Go to your RedAlert Folder and highlight everything in folder/right click properties/compatibility tab and run it as win xp. I see what you said about what happens when its on xp but when your running Ra95 it needs to be on compatibility xp. And if that fails try a uninstall reboot and reinstall and set compatability to win xp and see what happens but hey its a shot in the dark every computer reacts differently to older games hope the best of luck... leave feedback plz

Have you previously ever had Red Alert installed on this computer? or is this a fresh install on your computer first time ever?

what do you mean it is the only way i can get it to run? if you set it to winxp what happenes or any other compatibility besides win 2000? and what do you mean it crashes 5 min in game? are you playing online and a count down comes on or are you talking about single player game or skirmish and the game freezes no mouse movement or nothing?

i think its just the 3.03 version i am no longer able to connect either but i can connect to wwchat... can anybody else confirm this?

i would love to play it to i think itll be the best and i wonder if it can be added to cncnet would be a great addition to the server

run it as administrator and it should work i had the same problem

well it might just not be you if anyone can login in lobby of 3.03 let me know cause i get timed out but i can login on tiberian sun and wwchat??? is it me or xwis that i can login on 3.03 version of ra?

okay since wwchat crashes just open xwis tool and press reset on it and restart wwchat and try to login again all this has happened to me before more than once

download wwchat and try to login there but if it dosent connect let me know

first try a different nick 7 letters if it dont work try to download the xwis tool and press reset on it then try to connect again

in the main menu of the game go to multiplayer / internet if it asks to register online cancel then make any nick/pass

I think this post should be deleted the site hasent even came back up or any word from anybody not even people on ss chat on wwchat to even make an attempt to put the site or the game online it sounds like a scam to get people to donate something. XD

Hes doing a good job but it dosent interest me cause of the way the game is played like the icons and map were placed id like it original as it can be maybe with a different type of terrains like desert type in cnc gold style.

well the color settings in the game were moved when i downloaded it i guess it was his prefrences XD

its hard to explain you would have to do it your self. If a game is made but not closed just click on there name and press f4 *Note dont join game* and start typing to them they should get the message and they should be able to respond back. why was this feature orignally added for?
