  1. Hello, I noticed AI is quite bad at building naval units. Is there an ai better at buildings ships? Is there maybe a guide on how to run for a map? Is there a dif. Between yuri and ra2 ai? And between patches ? Thanks

Hello, Why I created the map and how got the idea: I always liked when enemy bases are close to each other and to build sentry guns to destroy enemy base, i.e. maps like east vs best but as FFA and not 3 vs 3 (but I never captured enemy construction yards with engineers for an actual battle instead). sometimes I play it as 2 vs 4 (me + easy in the middle bases and the other 4 brutal ai's) I created this map, Close Combat, as the ultimate close battle in my eye. Features: Start at position 1 and you will be surrounded by 6 other bases (3 from the right and 3 from the left) there are plenty of Tech oil derricks and other neutral buildings to capture and give you a head start there is more ore to the north than there is in the other sides there is a base, position 2, with lot of gem for the enemy to take. this should be the hardest enemy because he will have a lot of gold (I make him russia) most bases can be fully or partially assaulted from basic naval units (Allied destroyer); i.e. there is water close to each base and all bases can construct a shipyard. there are other islands that can give you other benefits there is spy satelite and tech airport near you if you choose to start at position 1 (which you should :P) Suggested set ups vs humans or AI you can try FFA vs humans try out FFA once vs AI just to check map Try 3 vs 5 all brutal: start at position 1, and make your ally start at postions 4 and 7. Try 3 vs 5 but make your allies Easy this time and your enemy still brutal ? When you feel strong enough, try out 1 vs 7 (hint: maybe choosing France is best for the map) Map should work for Yuri's revenge, but im not sure if it does work for Red Alert 2 without the expansion (I think it does not( what do you think? do you the like the map? do you have any suggestions? How do you think I must refine the map for its purpose? are there particular changes in your mind? feel free to leave any constructive feed back; be position please!   3. Hello, it seems to me that allies are much more powerful than the soviets are. Here are the reasons: Air planes are much faster than soviet Kirov airship. Construction yard can be easily killed with couple of Allied radars. They have superior vision and map control with both spy satellite and gap generator. Imo the gab generator should have been for the soviets to balance the spy satelite. Their naval units can invade lands and clear the shores to help deploying troops from transports. Their airship carrier can defend itself much better than Dreadnought Prism tanks can outrange most defenses. Yes apocalypse is good but cannot attack from afar. Chrono miner can teleport to any refinery. This make re-arrangment and retreat much easier. that is basically the main reason. All of the above makes the allies capable of out maneuvering the soviets. yes soviets are strong but are quite static and cannot move fast (appocalypse + airship). rockies, harriers, and prism tanks can out maneuver the soviet units. what do you think?
  4. I like East vs best. I usually play 2 vs 4 (me + 1 Easy AI vs 4 Brutal) I take position 2 and my ally take position 5. so that each of us is surrounded by the enemy. I always fight and not capture any building.
  5. Hello, I have Yuri & Red Alert 2. Yuri works ok, but when I play red alert campaign, all my units die few seconds after start. I have seen many discussions but I did not see any solution. Can someone help?
