Arda - a Red Alert expansion project

Hello everyone! I suddenly got in the mood to type something up.

 

This might be old news to many of you, but since no one is covering it I decided this needed a news post.

 

Inside the oh so cleverly named "looking for testers" topic on the CnCNZ forums lies something awesome; Arda.

 

Arda is a project by AlexB similar to Ares for Yuri's Revenge. It uses Syringe to "patch" a DLL into Red Alert while it's running. Which means that Arda doesn't change the game files directly. Arda fixes bugs and gives us new features such as high resolution, and new rules.ini tags for modders such as the GuardRange tag from Tiberian Sun which allows you to build multiple wall pieces at a time.

 

Keep in mind that Arda is in an early state and might not work correctly so be patient if you find any issues and tell them to AlexB by posting in the Arda topic over at CnCNZ.

 

Using Arda you can play Red Alert in some pretty insane resolutions (click on the image for full size)

This may sound stupid but I have no idea how to get ARDA to run in High resolution. I've had to use the hires patch and there was another one that I recently had but it was making a weird error of not allowing me to build stuff or use the sidebar at all. Anyway, the ARDA launcher runs it in its normal crappy resolutions and not 1024 x 768 or anything of the like. I've tried putting the resolution integers in the arda.ini and nothing works.

I cannot get Arda to work for the Unofficial Red Alert build by the community, updated on April 4 2012.

I was afraid Arda wouldn't work with Unofficial Red Alert build by the community. It needs the old 3.03 made by Westwood.
